Church of God monetary loss recovery in the Scot Carter case

Church of God monetary loss recovery in the Scot Carter case

We are known to be 890K in the hole. In these types of cases, that is the amount that was discovered – and the real amount we will never know – but it is always much higher.

Any word on the dollar amount of restitution included in the plea agreement? Certainly there are some businesses and property that can be sold to recover some of the dollar amount stolen.

Any word on how much insurance is on the hook to cover?

Kind of quiet.

Crooks usually shelter or no longer have their catch. Follow up legal cost usually exceed the small portion returned. Once again the crook comes out ahead. Golf Cart Mafia Capo Famiglia

I don’t think you’re ahead when you go to prison but that’s just me.

Federal crimes are different than others. Federal agents can go in and seize property you own on the spot, can seize your bank account, garnish your wages, etc. If he has property holdings, they can take them.

Of course, the greatest loss is his family, but federal can take what he presently has, from what I understand.

Case in point;

Our city water clerk stole more than $500,000 from the city over a few years. She plea bargained for a 2 year prison sentence and to return the money. Of course the money will not be returned. Her and her husband are in debt to the casino for more than $750,000 as reported.

Not sure how parole works but I think she wont have to do the entire term. She could have gotten 20 years so I think she came out somewhat ahead of the game. Golf Cart Mafia Capo Famiglia

He will not likely spend time in the type prison we envision. Prisons for white collar crimes are more like country clubs with manicured lawns and no fences or bars on doors.

The prison time may not be as bad as what he has gone through already. I agree that losing family is the biggest loss. Golf Cart Mafia Capo

I don’t expect to see anything on Acts on loss recovery. Who has to tell us anything?
