CLEVELAND, TN: In the wake of the 7.1 magnitude earthquake that hit the Mexico City area, Dr. Tim Hill, General Overseer of the Church of God, once again is calling for Church of God constituents around the world to be in prayer:
“With hundreds feared dead and countless others injured, along with massive property damage, I am asking our church family to seek mercy and grace for those affected by the massive earthquake that hit Mexico City on Tuesday. Over the past few weeks, it seems as though we can’t get through one major natural disaster before another occurs. So while you pray for the earthquake victims in Mexico, will you also pray that God will bring a calm to our land? We need the Peace Speaker to step out on the clouds of Glory and speak peace to this troubled world that is being tossed and turned from one calamity to another.
But as I have continued to say, the church is at its best in the midst of the storm. So while our disaster relief efforts are spread thin right now, we cannot turn our back on our brothers and sisters in Mexico that are struggling due to the impact of this earthquake.”
