It’s 1967 All Over Again

It’s happening again.

It always does.

Israel’s lightning strikes on Iran (and let’s be honest, America’s performance is as astonishing) put them ahead of schedule. Iran is now defenseless: navy gone, air force gone, regular army drastically diminished. So now Israel has time to…destroy Hezbollah!

That’s right—today the IDF entered Lebanon, seeing an historic opportunity to thoroughly uproot those evil gargoyles. Netanyahu must be pinching himself.

And let’s talk about Bibi for a moment. I really do believe he’s reach Churchill status. Decades of vigilance, never moving from his premise that the head of the snake was Tehran. Remember, not only did he and his brothers see action as members of Israel’s elite counter-terrorism unit—their brother Jonathan was killed in combat. His death pushed the middle brother from a career in business to politics.

God’s Man for the Moment.

But the action now against Hezbollah is so huge. Hamas is a walking corpse, never to rise again. You see, once the rich funding from the head of the snake is gone, the terror proxies dry up.

So in a similar way that Israel was able to capture all of Judea and Samaria, including the coveted Temple Mount in 1967, there is now perhaps one opportunity to kill all the baby snakes, too. They seem intent on finishing the job, relishing it even.

Remember only a few years ago when the big scary statement was that Hezbollah had tens of thousands of rockets, and would one day overwhelm Israel?

Didn’t happen, did it?

Sometimes God kills 185,000 Assyrians in one night, and other times, God kills a bunch of Hezbollah with pagers. The ancient and modern intersect.

Again, I’m struck by the parallels. In 1967, Israel also had no plans going into that week to capture the Temple Mount, but they did. I had a personal thrill in 2017 when I entered Lion’s Gate at exactly the same time IDF troops had in ’67. From there it was a short jog to the Temple Mount.

Now, Israel has the opportunity to kill the last of their enemies as we celebrate Purim, the book of Esther epic. A few hours ago, Gadi Taub posted on X: “This is a repeat of the Book of Esther, in real time, and on the same dates. Jewish history sure puts secular beliefs through some tough tests.”

Indeed it does!

Also, in ’67, Israel almost begged Jordan to stay out of the fight. King Hussein however felt bound by his agreements with Egypt and plunged in. Big mistake. Within hours, Israel had captured the ancient heartland, forever (Amos 9:15).

Two days ago, Hezbollah stupidly fired rockets into Israel. Today, the IDF is roaming through Lebanon, killing Hezbollah. To say that the Arabs have been their own worst enemy for generations is an understatement.

I cannot emphasize enough the importance of killing Iranian leadership that funds the proxies.

Israel is remaking the Middle East, similar to their daring actions in the summer of 1967. Remember, certain specific conditions from Scripture must be set before the great end-time prophecies can be fulfilled. But we are living in amazing times.
