I know that Christ’s blood is the only thing that saves but THEORETICALLY, if someone actually could obey the entire law perfectly, (which they can’t) wouldn’t they be saved??? Think before u say “no” and give your reasons‼

Theoretically, yes. But due to our sin we can not keep the law perfectly thus earning our righteousness. Jesus was able to and did because He was without sin and accomplished righteousness which is imputed to every believer. Our sin gets imputed to him and nailed to the cross and we get a righteousness not our own.

As I understand it, the doctrine of original sin (ancestral sin) says that we are all born sinners. Since we are descended from Adam, and he having brought sin into the world and into humanity, we also have a sin nature from birth. This is why Jesus didn’t just lead a sinless life, but was also born sinless, because he was born of a virgin (again, as I understand it – could be off base here).

John 14:6 Jesus said Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.“
Dwelling on the thought that one could gain access to the Father by living a sinless life is sin itself.
2 Corinthians 10:5 “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” -
Jesus had to die sinless because nobody can. If you know it is practically impossible, why are you asking? 🙂

Law could never have saved you.It was put there to show you have trespassed.Its like when you look in the mirror only than you will realize that your face is dirty and you need to wash it .

Why would anyone want to keep a law that no longer exists??, i don’t see what benefit one would get from that. If a country decided that they are phasing out the old ID’s and that the new ID’s will look completely different and everyone has to apply for the new id, u decided u love ur old id and want to keep it, but now you require a service and at the door they tell u sorry we do not accept the old id card you need the new one. You can decide to keep and walk around with your old ID but you will not get entrance to places, access to the service that you need.
You are then saying that you dnt need a new id because you have everything you need. You are perfect then.
So if you are keeping the Law then you are denying what Jesus is offering. -

For what reason do we obey the law? Theoretically, if someone could obey the law perfectly I believe the reasons they are trying to is because they want to be a righteous person. But is the intention to impress people, feel self righteous that they are great citizens, be competitive with his brother.. Or is it to honor and love the morality of God, to seek his will. The motive is unclear to us as people. Only God sees the heart.

They would have no reason to be saved; they would be justified already. Sin is breaking the law in someway.
The only reason I say this is Jesus kept the law perfectly. Jesus didn’t need to be saved; keeping the law perfectly enabled Him to be the Savior.

If we could obey the law perfectly, then yes, because that would include no original sin. But we are broken by default, so sadly we can’t fix ourselves!

no. Paul made it clear that no man was ever justified by the law. The rich young man asked Jesus what he had to do to inherit eternal life. Jesus told him if he kept the law he would live but He didn’t say he would inherit eternal life. He went on to say “follow Me”. The message of salvation has always been and will always be by faith in Christ alone.

I don’t believe in original sin, but salvation goes beyond obedience to the Law so, I’d say no! 🙂

The answer is YES! If indeed someone could live a sinless perfect life, they could indeed be saved without the atoning work of Christ on the cross.
God demands perfection. And if you can attain to it WITHOUT Christ, God will accept it.

I think before Jesus came this would be possible, but definitely not probable or likely. But because before Jesus is now history, we know no one was able to live perfect.
However after Jesus, even if someone did live perfect they wouldn’t be saved. Because Jesus fulfilled the law which in that sense means it is closed and now there is no other name I.e “good works” that saves except the name of Jesus.

Even if you managed to keep the law and hence live sin free, you still have the inherited sin from Adam cursing through your veins, so a sacrifice is still required.

Even if they could(which they can’t) it still wouldn’t save them because it has to be Christ and not our works and not the law. Christ must get all the glory.

IF someone were so cut off from the world, lived their entire life not encountering anyone who knew or had heard of Jesus, THEN they would be judged on the moral laws of God and their relationship with the Father.

No, because man’s nature is corrupt.
Think of it like this, a child who dies in infancy has not broken any of the Law, but that child still needs the blood of Christ for admittance to Heaven.
Man’s nature is corrupt both physically and spiritually. If Jesus had never died for Us, the best He could do for us would be to wind back the clock every time we died, like he did for a few in the Gospels. But those people still died again because their very nature was corrupt.
Christ’s death provided a new nature to be imputed to us, so that we would never have to die again.

Jesus was perfect and did not need to be saved. (Between you & me, I doubt he could have been perfect if He hadn’t also had been God. Mute point because people cannot be without sin, because Old & New Testaments say, ” ALL have sinned & fall short of the glory of God”. If people could be sinless Jesus died needlessly. He could have just said, ” you can do it, so I don’t have to die for you”. We’re NOT sinners because we sin–we sin BECAUSE we’re sinners. We inherited it from Adam & Eve. Through one man sin entered, through the God man sin was defeated.

If a person was perfect then the law of justice would require no punishment for a broken law and they could inherit heaven. Only Christ lived this perfect and so only he could pay for the sins of other because he had no debt of his own to pay and could satisfy the law of justice so mercy can be applied.

I think one of my biggest issues with christian theology is the salvation and acceptance of Jesus gets you a ticket to heaven. I know many christians that do whatever they want since they believe they are “saved” or can simply be forgiven. While I know many people that do not believe in christianity but are good people who do a lot of good for others without the carrot and stick routine.
Here is a scenario that not many christians will address.. I posted it here but the post has not been approved yet.
A man rapes and murders several women and children. Those women and children are saved and go to heaven. Their rapist and murderer later goes on to get saved as well and he dies and goes to heaven too. Now those victims have to spend eternity with their rapist and murderer. That then turns their heaven into a hell. What god would think this is a good idea or situation?

Biblically, nobody did. ALL sinned. Hypothetically, if man didn’t commit any sin, there’s no need to be saved him from. Man would have stayed in Eden.

We are legally considered to have kept the law perfectly, because Jesus did it, and if we believe his righteousness is imputed to us. So in that way, we are saved by the perfect keeping of the law of Jesus.
Of course, if one never sinned, they wouldn’t exactly be “saved”, because there would be no slavery or guilt to sin. -
Would God allow perfection in His presence? Certainly! He walked with Adam in the garden. So if so someone would lead a perfect life, I believe they could have made it to heaven. The problem is, even our thoughtsare wicked, and it is 100% certain not one of us are capable of being perfect, which is why He sacrificed Himself for us so we may yet know Him.

We don’t live under the law. We live under the Grace of Jesus Christ. We will never reach perfection in this life. Only Jesus is the Perfect one. Although we live in a sinful body, we are perfect in Gods eyes.

This would work “theoretically” if someone had done so before Adam’s fall. But since his fall, all men are sinners through him because we are all conceived in sin and are sinful since we were in the womb. “Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.” Psalm 51:5. “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned” Romans 5:12.
Mankind technically is incapable of living a sin-free life. Even if they obeyed the law perfectly, we would still be sinners because we are descendants of Adam. One phrase that makes this easy to understand (given the proof of these verses): “We don’t become sinners because we sin, we sin because we are born sinners.”

The honest and direct answer is yes. Many people will slam me for this because it goes against everything that believers are taught. While your OP is only hypothetical, I honestly don’t see anything wrong in indulging in this for the sake of the fact that this DOES emphasize the glory of God in the end. If we could be sinless, would we need Christ? No, we wouldn’t. That’s NOT the reality, but to answer your OP honestly and objectively, you’re right. We would NOT need a savior much less Christ as that SAvior. I hope that honest answer helps.
