Which denomination of christianity is the correct one and why or why not? Any that will lead to Hell versus Heaven? Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, Southern Baptist, Methodist, Mormon, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, Adventist, etc.?
Apparently all churches are good as long they have Jesus. So I am down to Westboro Baptist, Lakewood or LDS. Thanks guys.

Everyone who believes in his heart and professes with his mouth that Jesus is the son of God and that he was crucified, died and on the third day resurrected (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) will be saved. So there is no one certain denomination that will be saved over the other, God has his people in all denominations, but its certainly safer to be in churches closer to the Bible teaching rather than traditions..

Hi Mike Davis, you’re assuming on this question that there is a single Christian denomination that gets one to heaven. The problem with that is that (most) Christian denominations are harmonized on the doctrine of salvation. It is not a case of which is the one door, but rather – “pick a door”.
By the way, if you were to find out the one true Christian denomination that gets you to heaven, would you join it?

In terms of theology reformed Baptist are really on par with scripture. But im not on par with titles so im just a Christian.
Nobody is perfect or correct except God, denomination or religion can only inform but only God can transform lives . except to those who did not believe Jesus as the Lord God and savior and not using the scripture as the authority in proving it.
I offer some guidance-I’m not interested in a debate.
Denominations are man made- ppl have different views on how to interpret the scriptures ie. literal or cultural for that time. and then start their own “church” if they disagree. Some denominations are “feel good” all positive. However sin being the source of our problems, we need the Lord Jesus Christ and if we live according to the bible, Gods word, then we will want to follow what it says. Here I think it’s important to find a good early translation. (I use NKJV- another topic for another day).
Then live as the bible says and study it- what are the Hebrew/Greek words, what context is it being said. Etc.
Studying the bible with other believers is also important so you can understand more about who God is and pray for others.
Mormon is not a christian denomination. It is a cult that redefines all the core biblical theology with books written long after the bible.

Correct one based on what criteria? Jesus is the only one who rescues anyone from Hell. This has nothing to do with denomination. The right question to ask is what denominations teach that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, (the one and only creator God) who died for our sins and rose again on the third day, all according to the Scriptures.

All churches are more or less pure. The historical 3 marks of a true church are a helpful guide. 1. The right preaching of the Word. 2. The right administration of the sacraments. 3. The right exercise of church discipline.

What is that “Which church is coreect?” an important question?
We have to be careful about this because Mormonism teaches in their doctrine that Jesus is the brother of Lucifer which is farthest from the truth. Jesus was there from the very beginning with God the father. John 1 states, in the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God, He was God from the beginning. (translated to “Logos” which means the Word made flesh which means Jesus because Jesus is the Word made flesh).
Anything that departs from this is a cult because the Word of God does not change. Also, we have to be careful with Jehovah’s Witnesses because their doctrine states that Jesus is a lesser god and is actually the arch angel Michael, which also is the farthest from the truth. They both came out in the early 1800s I believe way after the Gutenberg press started printing the bible that we have today. Basically, both of these believe in a Different Jesus that cannot save you. In regards of the other protestant denominations, they believe in Jesus from the bible. They might disagreed on secondary or tertiary things like baptism or worship, but they hold true to the actual historical Jesus who suffered and died on the cross and claimed that He was the Messiah and God in flesh, who died and was risen from the dead to take the penalty of sin for us.
Truth cannot be subjective. If there was a table, and a mormon, a jehovah’s witness, a jew, a Christian, and a Muslim was all sitting at this table and all had a different version of Jesus, logically, only one of them is right. If they were all right, then truth is subjective and just an opinion. If truth was just someone’s opinion, then who is to say Hitler was wrong or Stalin was wrong when they killed people because they thought they were doing something right and truthful to society. Therefore, the question is what is truth? Jesus said, I am the way the truth the life.

Jesus and salvation gets us to heaven not any given denomination. Read the word, that will guide you.
Honestly I don’t feel like this is a question that can be easily answered. All denominations typically have something to offer to Christianity that the other one lacks. However I do not feel like denomination was the goal of the church. Paul clearly discourages against division amongst believers and denomination does that very thing so I’m not going to say run from your denominations. But I am going to say that it would be a mistake to claim other denominations over the other. Because then it makes the division become even greater.

I’d say that it doesn’t matter what denomination you are apart of. There’s just some core doctrines that need to adhered to. Such as the resurrection. Most denominations have the same core doctrines. I’d say there are cults that don’t fit. Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, oneness Pentecostals and a few others.
Jesus is the only answer. We ARE the church! So as long as we are reading our Bibles and praying, and having fellowship, it doesn’t matter the denomination. However, a cult is a different story. They believe things that are completely made up, about God.

Jesus created the church only one church with only one doctrine. All other churches with any doctrine that differ in anyway from the word of God. Is not of God and is a false doctrine. Which you should stay away from because they can lead you to be separated from God eternally. You only want to be taught the truth.

Repentance after hearing the 10 Commandments, Faith that Jesus died in your place for your Sins. Belief that He Rose from the Grave after 3 literal days and is now seated at the Right Hand of God the Father in Heaven as your advocate. Any group of people that doesn’t have that Foundation is not of God.

I ll say that its not a particular denomination that gets you to Heaven, but rather your relationship with the Lord.
But then you have to go to a church that’s based on the Bible. Some churches nowadays teach things that are way off from the Bible and lead people astray. Teaching them its okay to sin and other stuff, which will lead to people being lost.
So you have to look for a church that’s based on the Bible, but the important thing is your relationship with the Lord
As long as they stand firm on the essentials of the Christian faith, call out sin when necessary, preach the whole Gospel, and have no tolerance on redefining the Bible or Jesus Christ, and love all people in the Biblical sense, I have no problem with them and I will gladly leave the non-essentials out of the way. Churches don’t save a person, only being born-again (realizing the need for a Savior after hearing and knowing the Gospel) through a saving faith in Christ alone by grace alone saves.

Our Lord did not align Himself with any party or division during His earthy pilgrimage. While our Lord lived upon the earth, there were four principle divisions among the Jews: the Pharisees, the Sadducees, the Herodians, and the Essenes. Though each of these advocated some truth, our Lord identified Himself with none of them. Additionally, our Lord prayed for unity, the reverse of denominationalism; our Lord paid for unity, the reverse denominationalism; our Lord planned for unity, the reverse of denominationalism. Therefore, our Lord was undenominational and anti-denominational. Thus, must His church. The Lord is not the author of confusion nor denominationalism. Our Lord did not work against His own prayer for unity by establishing conflicting and contradictory.

The fullness of the Church is only in Eastern Orthodoxy.
There’s only one requirement to be saved “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved”.
