Water Baptism.. to those who believed it is a requirements for salvation. What is the difference if you are baptize in the name of trinity(Father,Son,and H.S) than in the name of Jesus Christ only? or even to those that believe that water baptism is an act of obedience only (shadow/mirror/ordinance/sacraments) .. Ref verse Matthew 28:19 and Act 2:38 kindly answer with thoughtfulness.

Peter Ferlin, The only Biblical refference for being baptised, Is, Matt 28: 19. Asd for being baptised in the name of Jesus only. It means, Being baptised into Jesus, Rom 6: 3. [Although it’s not water baptism in Rom 6: 3, It’s Spitit baptism] It’s the same principle. It’s NOT being baptisedin the name of Jesus. Just like those who were baptised into John’s baptism. Acts 19,3.

Water Baptism is done as an act to show you are repenting…while the Baptism of Jesus was the Holy Spirit working on you (being born again), the moment you accept and believe.. Jesus as your Lord and savior…

I don’t believe Baptism is ‘essential’ for salvation, but I do recognise that the NT and early church all recognised it as the normative *moment* of salvation for Christians, as taught by the Apostles.
I think 1 Peter 3:21 unlocks it all – Baptism is only salvific to the extent that it is that first moment of repentance and confession that seeks Christ as saviour. And so when others do other things (like prayer) to accomplish that same goal, it’s not really biblical, but it’s effective.
For the same reason, I don’t think it really matters which name is technically invoked, and even whether they believe in the Trinity – it’s that repentance and confession that seeks Christ as saviour. After all, we evangelised and baptised for 300 years before the Trinity was formulated – we see lots of people come to faith in the NT who wouldn’t even have recognised Christ as God at the time.

Well… I have a unique perspective. I was born of God apart from the sects and was inwardly prompted one day to ask a pastor I was speaking with about getting baptized. Was later baptized into that sect by sprinkling in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Later on someone from another sect suggested that I should redo my baptism and be completely submersed in the name of Jesus Christ… and implied my salvation was false if I refused. But… I was born of my God apart from the sects and knew, therefore, I had been accepted not based upon this man’s assumptions. Was Jesus baptized… yes. Was He totally submersed? Likely…. in the Jordan river by John the Baptist if one wishes to do things precisely as Jesus did. Besides… Yeshua (Jesus) is the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These are synonymous. Baptism necessary? I think so if at all possible… for the sake of conscience at least.

Baptism is your public profession of faith.
It does not save you.
But it tells people that you profess to be saved publically.
If you believe it gets you saved than you believe Jesus got saved when he was Baptized by John the Baptist.
But Jesus had no need to get saved. He never sinned.

Jesus clearly states one cannot enter the Kingdom unless you’re born again. Jesus was baptized and so was everyone else during that time. It’s the old man dieing, being buried, and resurrection of a new man in Christ

Mark 16 says he who believes and is baptized shall be saved. He who believes not shall be damned. We are baptized because we believe. A lack of saving faith damns the unbeliever. Baptism is a testimony of saving faith.
