We do know that not only the faith language has been changed, but also its (context) nuance over time…

in Romans 3:31 (KJV)
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

But why almost for the majority christian interpretation nowadays is:

grace vs works of the Law..
something with 180⁰ as an opposite understanding?.
Not as an Establishment of it.

Since when did Fulfilment meant to be Replacement??..

What is going wrong here??..

Is minimalism christianity brought us here, in the name of simplicity and modernity??..

Is Jesus works simple?

Or our theology has oversimplified this so that can be conformed with modernity??

My translation says “uphold” the law. Working alongside Galatians 3 we see what Paul is pointing at. We don’t forego the law but we are not prisoner to it anymore. Grace is still sufficient but to ignore the teaching of Jesus is to not truly accept grace. To accept grace without change is almost like your a consumer and not a follower. Grace should change us and our desires become to obey the laws of grace which summed up is the moral law in the Torah. We also desire to share this news of grace with others.

Listen to what paul says to Christians who had gone back to the law;

You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace. (Galatians 5:4, ESV)

So we see that law is contrary to grace, you are under one or the other;

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. (Galatians 5:18, ESV)

You can’t mix works and grace, this is what Jesus means when he says;

16 No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch tears away from the garment, and a worse tear is made. 17 Neither is new wine put into old wineskins. If it is, the skins burst and the wine is spilled and the skins are destroyed. But new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved.” (Matthew 9:16-17, ESV)

The law is works, it was put there to show our inability to keep it and to prophecy our Lord and Saviour;

21 Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law. 22 But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. (Galatians 3:21-22, ESV)

When we walk in love we fulfill the law;

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23, ESV)
