In the beginning, God created everything in time, space, and matter. He said it was very good. Then Adam chose to rebel against our Creator, thus sending the world into a tailspin of sin and depravity. The effects of sin are far from fully realized. Things will get worse. But…… read Revelation 21, everything is made whole again! Christ redeems all of creation!

What a silly question for a book to ask. That’s the same as asking why bad things happen.

People really need to give the Bible a chance and study it…geez…I mean I get these questions myself and the problem is that usually the one asking has his or her mind made up to disagree no matter how you slice the answer and make sense, so I ask them, why ask if you’re ready to disagree or blame God?

I’m just confused why this is becoming a question, no offence to anyone asking it. Everyone deals with many natural evils in their life, so if there’s no problem there, there should be no problem with Covid.
God ordains diseases to chastise, purify, and convert people depending on how they relate to Him. But that’s true for every natural evil.

How can there be a good car manufacturer when there are so many auto accidents? The answer is free will. God created the world perfect. But man chose to sin and all of creation has paid the price. But a loving God made a way to escape the consequences of our sin through Jesus Christ.

God allows things to happen for a reason. Everything happens for a reason, His reason and His reason alone. Whatever happens to us on this earth is because God is allowing it, for our benefit in the long run or to discipline His children (Us and everyone on this earth).

The person who wrote the question doesn’t understand who God is. A good question would be rather why does this loving God not send me to Hell at any given moment for my sin. But I’m sure my Christians know the answer ?

its like the world had never seen a calamity greater than the Covid19. we have faced two WWs. many great plagues and famines. everytime we faces tragedy or hardship, thiest and athiest and agnostics, every living soul turns to God for answer. Some ro blame and some to gain hope. But how easily we turn away once the hars times pass. is this question not of old? how many more WWs and how many more pestillences and how many more calamity untill we seek God? When will we start asking the right question so that we will find the truth.

I have a questions, why do we question the Lord God every time something wrong happens??
Doesn’t humanity make there own decisions and scripture says human heart is desperately evil.

Because of sin. when Adam and Eve sinned the earth was cursed.

These things were around when Jesus walked the earth. He didn’t heal everyone. When He did, it was to show His power and that He was God.
God isn’t overly concerned with our physical well-being as much as He is about our spiritual well-being.
Would something like the corona virus point us to a few truths which God tells us in His word? I think so.
Trust God and not man.
In this life you will have troubles.
In your afflictions seek Him who suffered for you.
There all kinds of evil, due to the love of money.
Pray for your enemies.
There are enemies of God and they seek to do the work of the devil.
And still He gives us the power to stand up, speak the truth, be the light and salt of the earth, in love but stand for truth.
Endure to the end, for our reword isn’t found here on earth.
God is in control, He is sovereign and His will, WILL be done. -
The same way there is cancer, the flu , common colds etc etc we live in a fallen world

The fact that we’re living and breathing at all shows that there is a loving God the amount of sin one person brings to the table should have been enough to wipe us all out what I have a hard time understanding is that God loves us so much I don’t even love myself as much as God loves me

You can love someone, but if they do wrong/evil against you, then you don’t have to do anything special for them. God does not have to reward evil, rightfully so. Yet he still loves us.

This life is the dress rehearsal for our forever. We will have tribulation, disease, evil will affect us. We live in a free will world where sin has brought all those things to pass. Take heart! For we have forever with Jesus in perfect harmony to look forward to.

God said if you disobey you shall surely die. We chose death. He took away the tree of life as promised. We chose to have the knowledge of good and evil. He has provided a way back to the tree of life if you want it.

Ultimately, this is just an extension of the problem of natural evil. Coronavirus isn’t really anything different. People were dying, often painfully, before the Coronavirus, and they will continue to do so after it’s gone. So it falls under the same umbrella. Where did death and suffering come from? Go back to Eden. Here, man sinned, and so God cursed the Earth, and paved the way for salvation. Sin demands death as punishment. Yet, as we know, God loves us, so that’s why death is delayed. We get a grace period called life, which we can either waste by dying and being justly condemned, or make use of by repenting and being saved by Christ.

That is probably to big of a question to try and answer on social media. But it comes down to this, a loving God is more interested in the next life and less interested in this life, whereas the very root of this question reverses is to suggest that this life is more important, therefore nothing bad should happen, and if nothing bad happens then this life would never end and there would be no need for the next life.

Maybe…Just maybe the Lord is trying to get everyone’s attention in the world and some are sitting up and finally getting it !

Why is there sickness in the world at all?
It’s a consequence of sin, and we live in a sin-cursed world which has sickness and high UV and liars and all manner of things we wish weren’t here.
The solution is the Messiah restoring all things.

The fact that we inherently know that bad things are contrary to God means that God is good. The fact that God is good should make everyone who ever asks that question want Him and search for Him, no matter the answer or lack-there-of.
God is good, and we want good, therefore, we should want God.

if you study genetics, and study it carefully, what is your answer to where DNA came from?
You look at this virus, consider the subtle little adjustments made it it, the stealth fighter of viruses, able to slide in under the radar, run silent, quiet, symptoms take awhile to develop, and by the time you figure you have a problem, you are at least running behind it by two weeks, if not two months. One little bug has shut down the worlds economy, a sabbath rest for the world.
He is patient with us, but perhaps he is tired of our empty self serving worship, our gathering together to socialize at our churches, our spending His money on ourselves, serving ourselves on His day, (some of us do manage 1.5 hours on Sunday).
As for the rest, marriage has become an abomination, morality is not, a society hell bent on serving itself.
Maybe He is tired of it and thought it was time to call us to repentance.
Three of the first things He promises His own chosen people for misbehaviour, is plagues and pestilence.
Leviticus 26:14 ‘But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments,
15 and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant,
16 I also will do this to you:
I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart.

Why do we automatically blame God? This is typical Adam-like behavior. It is time for man to be accountable and not shift responsibility.
There is a principle in this world and it is called Sowing and Reaping. We are in a fallen world and we suffer due to the consequences of our own sins and the sins of others.
God sovereignly allows free will and it is the misuse of this free will that we suffer from, not directly because of God. He has given man authority and dominion over the Earth and has further already given us His New Covenant promises. Don’t be stuck on the Old.
In all these things however, we focus on JESUS and not this world. We hold fast to the hope of the New Earth to come with no more suffering or tears.

-Loving definition we need to know first. Loving is not only caring and pampering and only sweet things.
– this is not from God. God never initiate but allow when his people go away from Him… We need to check ourselves (as Christians)

God is good all the time even in the midst of suffering. -
Because the ‘virus’ you see on the news, doesn’t exist. It’s all a show, a fake. Wake up. Use discernment and notice all the holes in their plot. Corona virus, lol. Get real. Go outside, stop being a part of their narrative.

God has always been a Loving God. As long as there has been evil and sin He still has been loving, yet there have always been plagues and pestilence as a result of that evil. Don’t forget Hebrews 13 says He is also a consuming fire. He will judge also.

I believe it’s the free will of humanity, and the sovereignty of God at play here. It’s our free will to choose good and bad, and to do things by accident, and on purpose, and God’s sovereignty to have permissive will on the things that happen, good and bad, and when to act & intercede on our behalf. It’s God’s ultimate sovereign choice in the matter, and in the midst of all of that, He gave us, as limited as it is, free will to choose what’s good for us, and what’s not.

Some people need to calm down. Imagine an atheist or an agnostic asking you this question? Knowing most atheists – most of them have a problem of believing in God because of the issue of pain/suffering… How would you answer them & share the Gospel when you start saying their concern or question is irrelevant.

God created everything. Good cells and bad cells (as we call them bad)
He created healthy cells and cancer cells (as we call sick deseased cells)
In Genesis when God finished he said everything was good.
Now…electricity is it good or bad. It’s good but if you break the laws concerning it, you will be hurt. If an innocent person breaks the law he to will be hurt, if some one misuses electricity they can hurt the good and bad -
Pastors, priests, and religious teachers often say that it is God’s will that people suffer. Some may say that everything that happens to a person, including tragedies, has already been decided by God and that we can never understand why. Others may even say that people, including little children, die so that they can be with God in heaven. But that isn’t true. Jehovah never causes bad things to happen. The Bible says: “It is unthinkable for the true God to act wickedly, for the Almighty to do wrong!”—Job 34:10. Many people blame God for all the suffering in the world because they think that God rules the world. But is that true? The Bible tells us that “the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” (1 John 5:19) The ruler of this world, Satan, is vicious and cruel. He is “misleading the entire inhabited earth.” (Revelation 12:9) Many people imitate him. And that’s just one reason why the world is so full of lies, hatred, and cruelty. There are other reasons why there is so much suffering in the world. After Adam and Eve rebelled, they passed sin on to their children. And because of sin, humans cause other humans to suffer. They often want to be more important than others. They fight, they go to war, and they bully others. (Ecclesiastes 4:1; 8:9) Sometimes people suffer because of “time and unexpected events.” (Ecclesiastes 9:11) When they are in the wrong place at the wrong time, accidents and other bad things can happen to them.
Jehovah never causes suffering. He’s not to blame for war, crime, and mistreatment. God does not cause disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, floods and this Corona-virus epidemic. But you may wonder, ‘If Jehovah is the most powerful person in the universe, why doesn’t he stop those terrible things from happening?’ We know that God cares deeply about us, so he must have a very good reason for allowing suffering to continue.—1 John 4:8.
In the garden of Eden, the Devil misled Adam and Eve. Satan accused God of being a bad Ruler. He claimed that God was keeping something good from Adam and Eve. Satan wanted them to believe that he would be a better ruler than Jehovah and that they did not need God.—Genesis 3:2-5.Adam and Eve disobeyed Jehovah and rebelled against him. They thought that they had the right to decide for themselves what was right and what was wrong. How could Jehovah prove that the rebels were wrong and that he knows what is best for us? Jehovah didn’t destroy Adam and Eve immediately. Instead, he allowed them to have children. Then Jehovah made it possible for the children of Adam and Eve to choose whom they wanted as their ruler. Jehovah’s purpose was to fill the earth with perfect people, and that was going to happen no matter what the Devil tried to do.—Genesis 1:28; Isaiah 55:10, 11.
Satan challenged Jehovah in front of millions of angels. (Job 38:7; Daniel 7:10) So Jehovah gave Satan time to prove whether his accusation was true. He also gave humans time to set up their own governments under Satan’s guidance to show whether they could be successful without God’s help.
For thousands of years, humans have tried to rule themselves, but they have failed. Satan has been proved a liar. Humans do need God’s help. The prophet Jeremiah was right when he said: “I well know, O Jehovah, that man’s way does not belong to him. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.”—Jeremiah 10:23.Why has Jehovah allowed suffering to continue for so long?
Why does he not stop bad things from happening?It has taken time to prove that Satan’s rule has failed. Humans have tried every kind of government, without success. Even though they have made advances in science and technology, there is more injustice, poverty, crime, and war than ever before. We cannot successfully rule ourselves without God. However, Jehovah has not fixed the problems caused by Satan. If he did, it would mean God supports Satan’s rulership, and He will never do that. Also, humans would believe that they are able to rule themselves successfully. But that is a lie, and Jehovah would not support that either. He never lies.—Hebrews 6:18.
