How would you answer someone who says that “God cannot exist, due to Him not stoping events like the Holocaust, Armenian Genocide, and other atrocities.”

Same as asking why He allowed the TEN PLAGUES to befall Egypt, why He allowed Israelites be taken to exile in Babylon, The floods in the the times of Noah, the Sodom/Gomorrah tragedy etc. God has a divine reason for everything.

Simple, it’s free will. If everything conformed and obeyed God, and God took total control, there would be no choice. It’s like a robot saying “I love you.” It becomes meaningless, since the robot has no choice to say anything else. God is all good, and he is all powerful, yet he chooses to not exercise that option. I mean, everyone dies – so when someone dies it doesnt mean God is bad, its just natural.

The question I ask here, is why should God stop events that we as humanity make happen? While it’s on a grander scale, it’s like asking why does he allow murderers to commit murder. People do those things and God will judge them for it. It’s not the kind of answer sceptics will like often, but it is a valid point to raise.

The awareness of these events being atrocious implies an awareness of an absolute standard of goodness which can only be explained by the existence of a good God.

God implements a law in Genesis that HE himself will not break because of his faithfulness to His word.
God said let us make man in our own image and LET THEM have DOMINION over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over all the wild animals of the EARTH , and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the EARTH .
God cannot interfere on earth without man’s approval and man cannot correctly rule the earth without God’s leadership. I believe that he loved mankind so much that he gave them free will, hoping man will chose HIM rather than to be forced into choosing HIM. You’d think if God could work on earth anytime HE feels like, that HE would’ve stopped that skiny woman from picking the fruit and offering it to her stupid husband Adam?️?
All this evil on earth only has man to blame for.

We could use the same logic to say that God must exist because of the good things in this world.

God leaves us to the consequences of our rebellion against Him. He allows us to rebel against Him as a function of the free will He gives us to choose Him.

So, because mankind embraces what isn’t God, God can’t exit. That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard all week! That’s like saying, “Because I choose cherry pie, apple pie doesn’t exist.”

If God doesn’t exist, then there is no standard for right and wrong, and the holocaust/armenian genocide aren’t evil. They were just inconvenient.
If evil exists, then Good also must exist. You can’t just have evil and nothing else.
If evil and good exist, then there must be a moral law, by which we are able to identify a thing as being good or evil.
If a moral law exists, then there must be a moral law giver. Someone who wrote the law. That’s God.If there’s no law giver, then there’s no moral law. If there’s no moral law, then there’s no good. If there’s no good, then there’s no evil…. so what’s your friend’s question?
