Baptisn means to wash and its not limited to one kind of washing.

  2. Manuel Alejandro Acevedo Mojica says:

    Amen

  3. Manuel Alejandro Acevedo Mojica says:

He gave us the commandment in mark 16:16, Matthew 28:19, Luke 24:46-49 and John 20:22

Then in acts 2:38 we see the fulfillment of what Jesus spoke about

  4. Tochukwu Alain Okafor says:

Jesus Christ didn’t teach us abt immersion in water(water baptism)

  5. Joe Losiak says:

Read the Gospels for your answer. The message to the Jews was to those who already followed the old Testament and needed confession and recommitment . As the message was given to the gentiles who had nothing to do with the Old Testament. They just had to believe and baptist and communion follow. All those Jesus saved came over just by believing. Read the whole Bible in context.

  6. Serg Damian says:

Talk about dedication to heresy Jude Lucas .. wow. No need to keep posting something that will not change the opinion of a true believer.

  7. Larry Koester says:

Look it up in a Biblical Greek to English dictionary for youeaelf. You certainly are not going to take my word for it. Plus the religious washing was ordered for temple worship in the old testament washings on which John’s and Jesus’ seemsto be based. Can you prove immersion only. I don’t believe you can. It is certainly one way to was somethiing but not the only way.

  8. Greg Barolet says:

There is a result clause. So some your saved as a result be baptised.

  9. Gina Alston says:

That gospel was given to men of Israel only. Not a single gentile was saved until acts 10, Cornelius and God had to give Peter a vision to practically force him to go to a dirty gentile.

Our gospel of grace in this age comes from paul, the apostle to the gentiles. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

…That if you believe Christ died for your sins, was buried, rose again fulfilling the scriptures, you will be saved…

  10. Dane Davenport says:

    Genesis 3

  11. Manfred Boensch says:

How on earth is repent and believe the Gospel.

Peter preached the Gospel, and those convicted by their sin cried out.. What should we do…
Repent and get immersed is not the Gospel

  12. Alan Parsons says:

Another day another troll post trying to force the idea that baptism is needed for salvation and accusing anyone who disagrees a non Christian ?

  13. Serg Damian says:

Fyi: Barton W. Stone founder of restoration movement (which Jude Lucas believes in)” He did not believe that Jesus died in man’s place as substitutionary sacrifice”.

  14. Peggy Kalivoda says:

If Acts 2:38 is the gospel then why did Jesus die on the cross??

  15. Angelino Acosta says:

And, believe Apostle Peter’s testimony 100%
    (Acts2:15-20)
Many don’t believe that the sun, moon and stars had darkened and fell during their time.

It will similarly happen again at the end time(Matt24:29, Rev6:12)

  16. Angelino Acosta says:

LEAVE THIS REPETITIVE INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT BAPTISMS(go on to perfection)

New International Version 1984 Hebrews 6:1-2 Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT BAPTISMS, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

  17. Peggy Kalivoda says:

So the Enuch received Jesus, and then he got baptized.

  18. Ed Weems says:

So much confusion regarding baptism, there is nothing Supernatural about baptism, baptism is symbolism, it symbolizes a supernatural event that will take place in the future, death burial Resurrection to eternal life, baptism represents what’s going on in 1st Corinthians 15 verse 35 through 50. Death burial Resurrection to New Life. If you had to be baptized in order to receive your inheritance my father would have to reject all the soldiers that died on a Battlefield and in the last moments of their life were told of the Saving Grace but beans a military helmet isn’t big enough to be baptized in my father would have to reject all of these people who accepted his son in the last moments of his life much like the thief on the cross also the thousands and thousands of people that died at the scene of a auto accident who with their last breath accepted the Christ but did not have time to be baptized, absolutely not. Baptism is not Supernatural but it does represent a supernatural event

  19. Bob McKay says:

Speaking to Jews under the law covenant. No Gentiles there.Paul is the first to tell gentiles that we are not under the law. Now instead of being purified

  20. Bob McKay says:

Instead of purification by water it is by faith. 2Peter 1:22. Acts15:9. Heb.9:10. H

  21. Daniel P Campbell says:

If you’re referring to 2v38… it also says you will receive the gift of the HS which many Pentecostals Believe that without speaking in tongues, you’re not saved

  22. Curt Stewart says:

The gospel in Acts 2 not only was the gospel preached, but those that heard were told how to PROPERLY respond to the gospel.

  23. Liza Lazar says:

The gospel is the good news and this good news was described by Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4.
The gospel is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus in which we proclaim to the world so that anyone who hears it might believe in Jesus
and repent of their sins so that they might receive the gift of salvation from God.

Acts 2:38 does not speak of the gospel itself but a way of how a person should respond in order to be saved when they have heard the gospel. In verse 37, you will see that the people where cut to their hearts after hearing the preaching of Peter that’s why they asked him what should be their response.

    Hope this bring some clarity.

  24. Alan G Hales says:

Peter never said be baptised for the remission of sins. The translators have misled people with Acts 2: 38. Acts 22: 16.

  25. Jo Kothenbeutel says:

The Gospel is also in John Chapter 3.

    Its before Acts 2.

  26. Ian Kronick says:

If you think the gospel started in Acts, you haven’t read Genesis.

  27. Carl Butterworth says:

Acts 2-what did he do in his earthly ministry ? put his fee up ?

  28. Gina Alston says:

The gospel in Acts 2 is to Israel. No gentiles were saved until Cornelius in Acts 10.

Our gospel of grace is found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

…That if you believe Christ died for your sins, was buried, rose again fulfilling the scriptures, you will be saved…

  29. Jude Lucas says:

The gospel in the book of Acts is always the same for the Jew and the gentile

  30. Jude Lucas says:

God’s Plan of Salvation. Five steps…

    3. Sent the Holy Spirit as a guide (John 16:13)
    4. Gave the Gospel as “the power” unto salvation (Romans 1:16)
    5. Provided atonement by the blood of Christ (Romans 5:9)
    MAN’S PART

    1. Hear the Gospel. (Romans 10:17, John 8:32)
    2. Believe the Gospel (Hebrews 11:6, John 20:31)
    3. Repent of past sins (Luke 13:3, Acts 17:30)
    4. Confess faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 10:10, Matthew 10:32)

    6. Be faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10)

God has done His part; will you do yours?
