My understanding is that when it is used “son of man” it wants to stress he was fully human. And when it says son of God it wants to stress his divinity. And son of David wants to stress his annointing. You’ll have to double check this though as I’m not entirely sure.

Son of Man is a description of God in Daniel when Daniel had a vision of God in His everlasting kingdom. Son of God is the title Jesus has had for eternity as the Word.

True God he is, and true man. Able to die in the place of us all for the sin he atone for was our sin and, truue God so his death was worth enoungh and more than enough for all. No one is left out. But that does not mean all receive it. ONLY by faith is it it allied to us individually.

Son of Man refers to Daniel 7, where Daniel has a vision of this ‘son of man’ and to him is given glory, authority and sovereign power, and every nation language shall serve Him. And Jesus claims that He is that Son of Man.

Fully Man Fully God

There is a lot to explain. The cliff notes version is that if you trace the Son of God theme in the OT, it starts with Adam (per Luke’s reference in his genealogy). Israel is called God’s son in Exodus when Moses asks Pharaoh to let His people go. Son of Man does come up in ways where Ezekiel relates to Israel as fallen. Daniel’s prophecy in Dan. 7 says that he saw one like a Son of Man approach the Ancient of Days and He received worship. This is the Messiah. Jesus, when He appears before the Sanhedrin answers in the affirmative their question of “Are you the Christ, the Son of the blessed one?” He adds that “you will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of Heaven,” which is a direct reference to Daniel’s “Son of Man.” Both Son of God and Son of Man show that He is the divine God-Man who is the perfect image of God sent to fulfill all the prophecies.

I think those referencing Daniel are on the correct plain. The word Son of Man would resonate with the hearers of the day, the words Son off God would not.

Bene Elohim (Son of God) is a title and description of Angels, Humans, and The Holy Spirit. When referring to humans the title denotes one who has been Adopted by God through the Spirit of Adoption aka Holy Spirit.
Bene Adan (Son of Adam/Man) is a title for human descendants of Adam and the Theophany of God
-
“Son of God” is God’s representative to man, and “Son of Man” is man’s representative to God.
-
Son of man title is chosen by Himself and not given by anybody…
-
Very good question that highlights the great confusion and deception between the two! SON OF GOD IS CLEARLY,,COMPLETEY DIFFERENT FROM SON OF MAN, and it unbelievable that something so clear should be the source of confusion and deceit for so, so long!

Same thing
-
Son of God means His deity that He is God.
Son of man means or refers His humanity that He is 100% human being like you and me. -
JESUS IS GOD IN THE FLESH.
-
Son of God refers to His deity that He is 100% God.
-
“Son of Man” is from Daniel’s prophecy (Dan 7:13). It shows that Jesus was identifying Himself with that heavenly figure.
“Son of God” seems to have multiple meanings…its the name for Israel and for angels.
Adam was called the “son of God” possibly because he was created directly by God (Luke 3:38). That might be what it means about Jesus, too, because He did not have a human father—God was His Father (John 3:16). Theologians talk about “the eternal generation of the Son.”
-
Jesus was/is both but he came to earth to show us what a man fully dependent on God looks like. The normal Christian life. So he chose to call himself “son of man” to show he is the blueprint of us
-
Jesus himself used both forms.
I think it means that he was just like us, a descendant of man, and a descendant of our Creator. -
He is the Eternal Son of God the Father, and in time, the incarnate son of Adam, to redeem Man(Adam)kind. True God and True Man, in one Person.

Jesus Christ often referred to Himself as “the Son of Man.” When He did so He was identifying Himself as the Jewish people’s long-awaited “Messiah,” an English word that was derived from the Hebrew word “Māšîah” (meaning “anointed one”) which was translated into Greek as “Christós,” from which our word “Christ” was derived.
Two thousand years ago many of the Jewish people were expecting their “Messiah” to soon come and rescue them from all their troubles. When Jesus claimed the title “the Son of Man” for Himself He was clearly referring to one of the Old Testament’s most powerful “messianic” prophecies. The prophecy He then referenced was written by the prophet Daniel. In it Daniel wrote, “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was One like a Son of Man, coming with the clouds of Heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into His presence. He was given authority, glory, and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.” (Daniel 7:13-14) So by calling Himself “the Son of Man,” which Jesus Christ often did (Daniel 7:13, 14; Matthew 9:6; 12:8, 40; 13:37, 41; 16:27; 17:9, 12, 22; 19:28; 20:18, 28; 24:27, 30, 37, 39, 44, and in many other New Testament passages) He was clearly identifying Himself as the Jewish people’s long-awaited “Messiah.” -
Jesus was 100% divine and %human. He was man bcoz he could not be in all places at one time ,he felt hungry, tired and temper. He was divine too. He did what man could not do. In revelation God says he has appointed a man ti judge all human race. Which means its only Jesus in our human nature understands our iniquities, injustice, poverty and all sorrows of this world.
-
When you read the passage in the scripture, about Jesus the SON of GOD..it refers to his DIVINITY (He came from Heaven)…when it said the SON of MAN..it refers to his HUMANITY…(Human Nature of Jesus – that his lineage is from Adam – David – to Joseph) that’s why we believe the total humanity and total divinity of Christ…a ? percent human and ? percent DIVINE of Christ..
-
Soul, spirit of mankind.
-
Son of man (He co-relates with humankind ) Son of God , (He co-relates wih Christians and expresses His Divine nature) ,why do you people need answer to every question anyway
-
1. Son of man
Dan 7 (13)is also worshiping a man ….and Jews knows that God coming in human form, and all type people worship him and Jesus claims that prophecy before the high preast mt 26:64&65 and he tore his rob2.Son of God
When he raised from the dead he got the title
Rom 1:4 -
It means the same.MESSIAH.
-
To make it simple “Son of God” means He is God, and “Son of Man” means He is God in the human form. Therefore, Jesus is fully Man and fully God. God became a Man in Christ Jesus, he lived the life we should have life and died the death we should have died. Three days later he rose the dead proving the He is the Son of God(He is God), and offering a gift salvation and forgiveness of sin to those who repent and believe.
-
Son of God (Read 2 Samuel 7:12-14 & Psalm 2). Son of Man (Read Daniel 7). There’s more, but these are critical starting points and will give you the basic understanding you need.

Jesus called Himself Son of Man for the Jews to know that the profecy from Daniel 7 is fullfiled through Him: I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
