Well, that’s the problem. Barton is saying we should return to the Constitution. The article is saying we’ve left it for good.
It’d be like the Episcopal Church or United Methodist Church saying, “Hey, it’s not 60 AD, anymore…we don’t believe what the Bible teaches about sexuality. We’ve moved on.”
Granted, you’ve moved on…but shouldn’t you go back?
Likewise, shouldn’t we go back to the Constitution and States rights?
Not being American, I just can’t understand the arguments made here. Why would you equate a human Constitution with the Word of God? Why would you equate a political party with being good Christians, when clearly all parties are corrupt? Why would you uphold the name “Christian nationalist”, when there’s no Bible Text, or Biblical theme, that would back up such an identity? We are strangers, aliens, exiles, citizens of Heaven, followers of Christ, members of the universal body of Christ, *not* nationalists.
We need to examine, discern and respond to falsehood and bias, just like the bias in the article you posted.

What was the purpose of the post. First of all, I have not read of any evidence that Barton is a “Christian Nationalist” in the sense he believes we should be a theocracy. Does he believe that America was founded on Biblical principles? Yes, but that does not make him a Christian Nationalist nor more than to suggest that we borrowed Common Law from England suggests we are British Nationalists. Finally, Barton is right constitutionally. All the Federal Government can do is advice, help and suggest in this matter. It cannot under the Constitution, order the states.
