So that faith is not blind.

Faith itself is evidence. Hebrews 11:1. Reason would say we should not be forgiven, it’s not justice, or fair.

Faith and reason go hand in hand. Faith isn’t blind belief without evidence; it’s personal trust in God after having examined the evidence for oneself.

Firstly, one doesn’t need faith to believe in the bible. Theres piles of evidence to corroborate its validity. They do need to have faith to get threw all of the confusing inconsistencies to be found though. Blessings!

It’s not one or the other. It is both: Reasonable faith.
Faith is only as good as the object we place our faith in.
For a son to jump into his fathers arms is reasonable faith, “I can jump because I know my father and he will catch me.“
Blind faith is foolish faith for it is jumping into the unknown. God never expects his children to take such a leap.
We jump into the arms of a God we know can catch us.

Faith does not exclude reason. Come let us reason together. My reasoning skills brought me to Faith, I reasoned that my body is designed and if my body is designed there must be a designer behind the design, I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

1 Peter 3:15 . Give a reason for that thing that you’re hoping for, that thing that you’re believing in.
Faith is not blind but is based on evidence. The reason why you have faith because someone gave you information and told you why you need to put your trust in that.
Can you imagine if someone just told you to believe in something for no reason whatsoever? That’s crazy. And that’s what you call blind faith.
Roman’s 10:17 – Faith comes by hearing and hearing from the Word of God
John 20:31 – But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.

They are not at all mutually exclusive….I have faith because of my reason….

Faith is initiated with reason and logic. It is reason and logic that permits a man or woman to observe the supernatural World around us and discern that design is in-play and a Designer is therefore mandated (Romans 1:18-32).
It is faith, subsequent to the application of reason and logic, that motivates a person to search for the identity of this Creator and that Creator’s purpose in Time. When one seeks Truth with diligence they will find that Christianity is the only coherent worldview with corresponding truth that defines origin-meaning-morality-destiny and directly answers with logical consistency, empirical adequacy, experiential relevance. There is ONE God and ONE Mediator for sin, Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 2:5).

Right there, with the faith. Faith should never be irrational.

God has put enough into this world to make faith a most reasonable thing. But has left enough out to make it impossible to live by sheer reason alone. Ravi.Z.

Reason is the foundation of faith. That’s why people in the Bible “explain” the faith, and give a “testimony,” so that you will have a REASON to believe.

These are NOT exclusive to each other. Faith (in countless examples) is actually the PRODUCT or result of reason. It doesn’t have to be 1 or the other and that assertion is actually 1 of the reasons for heated debates where passion and tension take over rather THAN reason.
