I can see how the punishment upon Adam relates to the sin he committed. He must toil upon the earth to make it bear fruit, and partaking of the fruit of the tree of knowledge was his sin.
The punishment upon Eve is a little more hazy to me. How does Childbearing and a desire to be over her husband relate to partaking of the tree of knowledge?
Any answers are appreciated.
She was the one originally tempted by the serpent. The sin spreads through her hence the pains in child birth. And in giving the fruit to her husband she caused him to fall. God placed her desires to her husband instead
She desired to please her husband by giving her husband the fruit. 2. Child’s birth pain is to make her more like an animal
Animals don’t feel.pain in childbirth.. i believe it was to remember the pain of sin and separation
Also some interpret the desire to the husband to mean that her desire will be for the authority / role of the man, subverting God’s natural order
