Given all the educated experts in the field of apologetics, what is our role in communicating the evidence to others? Why is there still a pressing need for people who can “throw the ball in a way that others can catch it”?

    Our commission is Ephesians 3:9-11.

Hey, JWW, I’ve been seeking God’s guidance about a study I conducted regarding the origin of Cain’s wife. It fits so beautifully with your OP, so I thought I mention it and see if you’d take a read and give me your thoughts. I wrote it in response to an agitated atheist who smugly accuses God of immorality because of the incest involved with the sister wife scenario. To learn the truth, I went to the original languages and translated for myself what the scriptures actually say. I was blown away by what I found. You can read it here, just go to my site, then ‘More” then Cain’s Wife. http://www.madisonwilloughby.com/

A couple of reasons. An increasing divergence in world views combined with American individualism means everyone thinks differently and is entitled to their opinion. On top of that, believers have been afraid of the world, insulating themselves and avoiding challenge. The result is an empowered audience and a weakened church. When the two collide, they don’t mix well – believers rely on old modernist apologetics or making their case based in an authority that hasn’t been a shared worldview for decades. Fortunately, post modernism has led us back to experience and the broad embrace of mental and behavioral health has created an interesting nexus in culture. If we can focus on abundant life and demonstrating God’s work inside us (being free) then maybe we can bridge the gap with genuine relationships.
