    Yes thats true..just apologize..

  2. Clark Campbell says:

Most wars were not caused by religion much less Christianity. We discuss this topic a bit in our free apologetic concordance app found here: https://theologetics.org/witnessing-tools/

  3. Samantha Finch-Finchley says:

Disagree. The ineptitude of man to understand God is what causes war.

  4. Chris Thompson says:

I would 100% agree with said atheist…then point out the difference between religion (many dif types not just the “Christian” ones). Then from christian perspective, how there is a big difference between religion (doing things with legalistic attitude) and Christianity (having a real relationship with the father).

  5. John Maya Sr. says:

Tell them humans war over just about anything. Remove religion and wars still take place. It’s human fear and greed that cause wars.

  6. John Pricer says:
  7. Rick Wing says:

Tell them religion does cause war, because man created religion. Being a Christian is life and truth, and yes it divides, truth from error

  8. Eric Rogers says:

Religion is inanimate. Humans, sin, greed, power, envy, hate…

According to the Encyclopedia of Wars, only 7 percent of wars on history were caused by religion

  10. Gwendolyn Benthul says:

100 million image bearers were murdered in peace time in the 20th century under atheist regimes not including all of the wars that century had also from atheist regimes. It was the bloodiest century in human history. It was bloodier that all of the mohammadian conquest combined.

  12. Ken Matey says:

Simple…Jesus also hates religion, it was the religious people who killed Him. He came to offer a relationship with the Father without the formality of a religious structure. He never even asked anybody to be a Christian. He asked us to be followers, disciples, and witnesses. All, as opposed to “Christian,” are measurable.

  13. Christopher Soulos says:

What causes war is territory, trade routes, selfishness, pride, power, thuggery, resources, intimidation, revenge, empire building, hostility, competition, culture, defence, conflict, nationalism, revolution, atheism, religion.
Religion is not a main cause of war. Never has been.
Interestingly, Atheism has the highest body count in history, and they achieved that in the 20th C.

  14. Paul James says:

The Encyclopedia of Wars (Philip Axelrod), reveals that (when published) of the nearly 1800 (1763) known wars only 123 /7%(6.98%) were caused by religion, subtracting the 66 caused in the name of Islam this drops to 3.23%.
Looking actual bloodshed, the wars caused by atheist regimes caused more bloodshed in the 20th century alone than all the other wars combined.

I would point out the fact that only roughly 6% of all wars were caused by religion ,1.6 % From of Christianity 3% percent Muslim. These fact can easily be found in the cyclopedia of war

  19. Billy Leishman says:

Religion doesn’t cause war. Man causes war.
And Christianity never speaks of starting wars. Islam, however, does.

Religion nor government will save you, only a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  21. David Glaze says:

And things like atheists communism is peaceful?

  22. Joey Braverman says:

It is only a cultural belief that religion is the primary motivator behind war. In actuality, most wars have been political and/or territorial in nature.

On a side note, to say wars are caused by religion is not an argument against the truthfulness of Christianity nor any other religion. It is only an argument concerning the effects of religion on human culture and society.

  23. Daniel Armijo says:

Human pride, anger, and greed cause wars.

  24. Steve McCormick says:

Communism is about as atheist as one can go. Stephane Courtois, Director of Research at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in Paris, offers the following rough breakdown of the numbers of people that communism killed:

    USSR — 20 million

    China — 65 million

    Vietnam — 1 million

    North Korea — 2 million

    Cambodia — 2 million

    Eastern Europe — 1 million

    Latin America — 150,000

    Africa — 1.7 million

    Afghanistan — 1.5 million

Communist movements, parties not in power — 10,000

  25. Carolyn Ann says:

It is a meaningless statement, since we are all religious, even atheists.

Which wars and which religions started them? Biggest mass murders in history caused by socialist/communist regimes.

  40. Villeret Jeffrey says:

    It does cause war.

It has caused war with God’s guidance (look at Joshua)

It also had a big part to play in wars that were not lead by God’s guidance (Crusaids as well as pretty much most conflicts in the middle east)

People are flawed, therefore people mistakenly do things “in God’s name” that aren’t inherently reflections of God’s desires.

  41. Steve Losee says:

add one word: “FALSE religion causes war.”

  42. Ndegwa Ngure Moses says:

Majority of wars that have been fought in history mostly have economic gain as the cause.
Here is how the causes line up from majority causes going to the lowest .
    1-Economic Gain.
    2-Territorial Gain.
    3-Religion.
    4-Nationalism.
    4-Revenge.
    5-Civil War.
    6-Revolutionary War.
    7-Defensive War

  43. Stuart Voce says:

The accusations of Christianity being responsible for untold mass murder throughout history, we need to point out that humans in the 20th Century alone killed 200 million people.

The French Revolution: up to 40,000 deaths.

    Stalin: 20 million deaths.

Mao Tse-tung: up to 70 million deaths.

Fidel Castro: up to 141,000 deaths.

Ho Chi Minh: up to 100,000 deaths.

    Pol Pot: 2 million deaths.

    Kim Il-sung: 1.5 million deaths.

    Hitler: 11 million deaths.

Not to mention more modern wars such as, Vietnam, north Korean war, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Syrian conflict, on and on it goes.

Now I’m not a catholic , but the problem seems to be a human problem rather than a catholic/ religious problem.
Throughout history people have been taking the Bible and cherry picking the meanings in support of their own gain, whether it be for Power money or something else.

Our fallen nature as human beings is the real problem.

Shoot him. Proves his point but ends the argument.

Obviously they didn’t pay attention to the 20th century. Hitler, Mao, Stalin and Mussolini were atheist. Hitler and Stalin in general formed their doctrine off of Neo-Darwinism and especially the writings of Frederick Nietzsche.
