   i find in our culture its the o mighty cell phone that is idolatry we have it all the time, and we use it more then we should pray. some melt if they don’t have it. I for one was guilty. now , i carry a bible .

   There are times when God gives an “exception to the rule”

   You God says to Samson not to cut his hair, but;

   He also commanded Hosea to marry a whore. But tells us to choose a godly woman
   Hosea 1:2 The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great WHOREDOM, departing from the LORD.

   Commanded to a person to eat dung. But tells us to eat clean
   Ezekiel 4:12 (KJV) And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight.

   but because of that do we do the same exception to the rules and apply it to ourselves?

   I was an ex catholic, the answer is yes they do, please everyone, speak clearly on this subject as there’s many Catholics on this forum, there’s never any exception to have any idols that clearly states in the 10 commandments. Pope has slightly changed the 10 commandments but it clearly states no idolatry, thanks
