If evolution is true it places sin and death in time before God does, obviously, evolution is false pseudo science.

If ONLY evolution is true, “sin” is irrelevant. If God AND evolution are true, your premise is irrelevant.

That’s a problem I face. Should we take God’s Word—or more likely, an INTERPRETATION of God’s Word—as true, despite the evidence? Is that a safe move to make?
Or should we let the evidence confirm or refute our beliefs?
If we think the Bible says death did not exist until after the fall, but the evidence of geology, biology, physics, anthropology, paleo art, etc, demonstrates millions of years of death…do we just reject all that evidence, or do we question our interpretation of the Bible?

I don’t understand how evolution is an issue for Christianity.
Once you posit the existence of God, and if God says he created everything in 1974, the only issue is do you believe the statement is from God.
You can have evolution, vast distances between stars, dinosaur bones or anything else.
And it’s not a lie just because it looks old because God TOLD you when it was made.

Consider this. When Jesus turned the water into wine, what was special about the wine?
It ‘tasted’ looked and smelled like it was the oldest best wine.
If you had a microscope you might have seen dead bacteria that occurs when the alcohol content increases.
That’s a long natural process that we are specifically told occurred instantly. It was the best wine, the oldest wine but created instantly.

Sin is only applicable to man. So the question is, is the Bible’s definition of “death” only applicable to man as well? If this is the case, I do not see an issue of evolution being compatible with genesis.

It’s not psuedo-science – whether or not a theory is right doesn’t ultimately determine whether it is scientific. This is giving too much respect to the term ‘science.’ Interestingly, the only explicit reference (to my knowledge) of death entering at the Fall is Romans 5:12. This verse equates death with sin – but animals do not sin. It is consistent, therefore, to suggest that Paul is talking here about humans (after all the whole passage is speaking about salvation – something only offered to humans) rather than animals. It seems to me that animal death could have existed pre-Fall as part of a completed, self-sustaining eco-system which God had designed.

Romans 8 mentions how death in creation was ordained by God. It was Adam who brought death onto humans
