Nonsense. Adam and Eve were told to be fruitful and multiply. God does not contradict Himself.
-
Yep, it was sex growing on a tree.
-
This is nothing but BS. Why would God tell Adam and Eve to go forth and multiply after they ate the forbidden fruit, if that fruit was the act of multiplying?
-
The Bible’s Viewpoint on this (Original Sin), whether it involved a forbidden fruit or sex – this discussion is not new.
Let’s consider the idea that God’s prohibition in Eden was really one against sexual relations. The law in question is recorded at Genesis 2:16, 17: “From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.”
Was that really a veiled reference to sex? Well, as recorded at Genesis 1:27, 28, God commanded the man and the woman to “be fruitful and become many and fill the earth.” How were Adam and Eve to obey that command without having sexual relations? Are we really to suppose that God gave them a command and then sentenced them to death for trying to obey it?The weakness of this position is shown up by the question of the faithful man Joseph: “Do not interpretations belong to God?” (Genesis 40:8) The Bible is much easier to understand when we do not impose human ideas on it but, rather, let it interpret itself. What, then, was the original sin? Well, the Genesis account gives us every reason to believe that the tree of knowledge of good and bad was an actual tree. We are told where it was in the garden, and it is spoken of in relation to the other trees. Its fruit was real, and Adam and Eve actually ate the fruit.
By eating of that fruit, this was an open defiance of God, and that’s what Genesis clearly says. Romans 5:19 confirms the point: “By one man’s disobedience many were made sinners.” By refusing to obey God’s law, man was calling into question God’s very right to rule over him. God justly answered the challenge by dismissing man from this garden where all was provided and allowed man to rule himself. -
That teaching is from the Branhamist brothers they taught that kind of doctrine, I always debate them. They hate females so badly…
-
When the Bible didn’t mention it, we cannot interpret. Why speculate?
-
The forbidden fruit was an iPhone. I read it clearly in the Bible.
-
Figures of speech are in the Bible too people
-
Nonsense. It literally means fruit and it could be any kind of fruit. It’s a contrast to the first commandment to be fruitful and multiply. Sex is holy; a form of intimacy. It’s an element of physical and psychological production. Whoever taught that sex is the forbidden fruit speaks through the mouth of the accuser who aims to distort God’s commandment: That we should populate the earth with His image.
-
I believe it could have been whatever regular fruit. I believe the point of the tree of knowledge was that this moment Eve and Adam finds out that they can disobey God, that was the knowledge they did not have before (gen. 3/5) the sin was that God told them “DO NOT EAT that or you die”…. it could have been regular normal apple. The sin was disobedience to the Gods word

That’s a gigantic lie!!! God showed Adam and Eve every tree in the garden is not a metaphor. God wasn’t showing them porn movies and telling them that’s forbidden. People who come up with this excrement are fools and the best thing to do with a fool is turn your back on them.
-
Totally false concept entirely. The tree of knowledge of good and evil was forbidden by God to be sown into the flesh body of man. When man did this he corrupted what God had originally created him to be. This corruption spread through the male seed of man to all men. Notice Jesus was not born from man’s corrupted seed instead he was conceived in Mary’s virgin womb by the Holy Spirit of God. Making Jesus the son of God. Mary provided his flesh body making him the seed of the woman spoken of in Genesis that would crush Satan’s head. Have you ever wondered why we needed to be born again of incorruptible seed, because our first birth was from the corrupted seed of Adam and propogate down from father to son throughout the ages. Having been born again not of corruptable seed but of incorruptible which is the of God that lives and abides forever. Jesus is that word of God who lives and abides for ever in us. Christ in us the hope of glory.

This was taught by william branham in the 1940’s (serpent seed doctrine) that eve had sex with the serpent. Many oneness Pentecostal churches teach this doctrine. Scripture is clear on what the sin was in the garden and that was disobedience to God to Not eat the fruit from the tree. Smh it amazes me how ppl believe such Heresie’s. Well…actually it dont amaze me…
-
If the forbidden fruit was sex then how on earth where we to be fruitful and multiply?
-
This is a grave error and I don’t know where they get this from.
When both David and Solomon committed sexual sins, the Bible didn’t metaphorise them. It named them for what they are.
So why would God call a sexual sin the eating of a forbidden fruit?
Is God lying. Is he trying to downplay it’s gravity?
I don’t think so.
And this question is not even warranted for the simple fact that Eve was presented to Adam to be his wife the moment she was created.
How do you commit a sexual sin with your wife? It doesn’t make any sense.
It is sad to see people just cannot think through something as simple as this and want to complicate it for no good reason.
-
How would you account for the command to be fruitful and multiply?
-
Seriously. Sounds like this person has a sexual problem
-
It cannot be true because of God commanded them to, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth” (Genesis 1:28)
-
How can someone eat sex ?
-
Did God said be Virgin and multiply? He relay too much on his understanding better stay away from his teachings.
-
If the teaching did not come from the Bible alone, then it is a false teaching. God created sex, so sex in the form He created is not a sin. The original sin of Adam and Eve was not a fruit, it was disobedience and pride.
-
This is an attempt to make a statement about sex, not about original sin. This can only be true if SEX is inherently evil, which it most certainly is NOT.
-
Not even worthy of consideration!
-
They were told to b fruitful and multiply
-
Well … The old adage is true. .. in the absence of truth … People don’t believe in nothing … They believe in anything. .. like this post
-
The forbidden fruit was the knowledge of good and evil. God never taught humiliation nor fear that came from somewhere else.
-
Nonsense. This guy has sex with trees?
-
It was not fruit. The Bible teaches about good trees produce good fruit and bad trees produces bad fruit. The Devil himself can only produce fruit less than a 100% in quality. His actions will show his fruit. The Bible teaches that they ate the fruit of knowledge of good and evil. The devil told them he could tell them ALL the knowledge and that God had only given them half of it. He was correct but they did not understand. God did not want them to know evil, but they have flesh. I have heard many people say God does not speak in parables but this is the first parable in the Bible. He also said they were naked and tried to clothe themselves. I think this means they were overwhelmed with guilt because they NOW understood what it meant to even be naked. I mean, let a 3 year old boy or girl run around naked. They have no care in the world. We do in certain places with our children though because we know the evil by the time we have children. We have no problem with them running out of the bathroom after a bath being naked, but in public where certain people might be, it would be dangerous ! The fruit they ate was the words and knowledge of the evil one. This made them aware of their flesh and God was also letting us know by this parable or story about innocence. They were innocent at that time before they had the knowledge. I will give you an example. A child raised back in 1920 versus a child raised in the world today at age 13. The difference in those 2 individuals would be great in knowledge of good AND evil. One would know more about good and the other would know more about bad. One would be naked and ashamed and the other would be proud. There is such depth in God’s teachings as well. This is just a touching point of that story. But to the core of the question, the Bible says it was the fruit of knowledge of good and evil.
-
???? they need to read their Bible again. End times…false doctrine. Expect this more and more as we get closer to Tribulation
-
I wouldn’t recommend quickly deciding the nature of the person posing the question. It’s a question.. How about some good old fashioned discussion. Perhaps we might connect spiritually as our Savior intended. Just thinking..
-
What is almost certain is that the eating of a fruit made by God cannot possibly harm us. Instead it can be a way of telling some truth in metaphorical way, to avoid shame. It is very common in tales and myths that people are using images to tell the truth. But to be assertive as to affirm that this was sex is tempting. I personnally would rather want to leave the mystery as such.
-
IMHO Genesis is 100% literal.
-
If one believes that Adam and Eve were the only humans in existence at the time of the fall, the sinful fruit could not have been sex, even if you read it metaphorically. Because Adam and Eve were “of one flesh,” sex wouldn’t be sinful, much like sex in marriage is not sinful. Thus, regardless of your view/style of interpretation, the fruit couldn’t have been sex.
-
I came across a man who thought he was a woman. There are many out there who are delusional. Best to just pray for them and let them go on their way.
-
Gen. 3:6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.
how could that be sex? -
Do not read into scripture your understanding, pull out of scripture the truth.
-
This is so far out in left field that it dispels not only common sense but wonder if this person ever picked up a Bible!
-
This is a great lie. Ignore him. God showed every TREE in the garden to Adam and Eve. Here is tree in the original Hebrew:
Strongs ot:6086
עֵץ {ates}
עֵץ from עָצָה; a tree (from its firmness); hence, wood (plural sticks): + carpenter, gallows, helve, + pine, plank, staff, stalk, stick, stock, timber, tree, wood.
Used 288 times in the Bible
Now a pervert will try and say that this refers to the male member, but everyone else can see God means “tree”.
Some people are just obsessed with sex because they’re under demonic influence and they love to lie.
-
God’s word says she took from the tree and ate
-
The serpent was a literal serpent that satan entered. Read what God’s response to the serpent was
-
Absurd
-
It can’t
-
Heresy..
-
Sex is not a forbidden fruit. Nor the forbidden fruit. There was one fruit. Genesis described the fruit as beautiful and pleasant to the taste. Plus, God created sex as one the mechanism to multiply life. Hence, after Eve was formed from Adam’s rib, He told them to go forth and multiply. And in earlier scripture it also said that they had children while in the garden
-
If the tree of life is a factual tree, so is the tree of knowledge of good and evil, the tree of is life is restored in the eternal dwelling, the other tree is not.
-
Instead of talking about trees why don’t we talk about the fruit of the Holy Spirit. ?☕✝️
-
The real question isn’t what the “fruit” was or was to represent
It is what is sin?
Displaced souls from GodBut what was sin until Moses?
There’s nothing about what was considered sin before.
So they knew good from evil
But was there a difference before? -
Ridiculous. It was the fruit of disobeying God which leads to being seperated from him.
-
there is no such claim made anywhere in scripture. period.
-
Not in the scripture..
