Once again I had a debate with someone who said “If God is so good why is he killing us with this virus?”
Once again I responded:
All generations are tested with something bigger than ourselves. We are plagued with Covid-19 in response to how destructive we have become to God’s world, and this is the result for our generation. We can either pull together, as God wants us to to, helping each other, taking care of each other and loving each other when this tribulation is over, or we can receed into our own lives and look at each other with suspicion and anger. It is not a matter of “If God is good, then why (insert challenge here).” Its more “Do you have enough faith in Him to see you through it?” God is Good. God is Love. God is NOT dead. If God gave you a worry free, disease free life, what would you learn? Look at it another way. I see plenty of mothers today babying and sheltering their children into adulthood. Never letting anything happen to them and always fighting their battles. We all have seen the results of this when that child reaches adulthood and is in the “real world”. That mother, as loving as she was, didn’t do that child any favors. God is not doing us any favors now.
Grow up. Stop blaming God for everything bad and do your part.
God Bless and Amen!

Harsh?
Probably, but defending God is a lifelong calling.

In my opinion, these people that say that or think that are ones that really have no knowledge of God’s Word, and God Himself.

  2. Philip Davis says:

The foolishness is not realizing DEATH is NOT the Problem!

  3. Clive Hodge says:

Whatever God does HE does for a good reason. I don’t question His actions. Who are we to question HIM?

  4. Jonah Newberry says:

“In Him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.” (Ephesians 1:11)

Works ALL things according to the counsel of His will!

I really admire your courage and your conviction brother. And also just wanted to say that as apologists we are not defending God but rather defending our faith because God needs no defending. What you are doing is commendable brother God bless you! ?

This covid-19 virus pandemic is God’s Divine Providence. ?

How is God killing us when it was man decided to be reckless with it?

Satan is called “the god of this world” for a reason.
    John 10:10
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

It’s so funny people say that. Death is inevitable. We will all die at some point or another. People die. Some in their sleep, some when old, some not as old, some from illness, some from car accidents or unfortunate events. People die. God allows death. It’s inevitable. Does God allow every human to simply die in their sleep. No. One would hope that they do and that they would go out in a way that is peaceful but it’s not as important how you die as it is where you will spend eternity.

  11. Larry Lauersdorf says:

It may be unpleasant, but God created evil as well as everything else. Without pain and suffering we would have no perspective. I also personally believe that the pain and suffering in our lives refines who we are. I don’t delight in the fact, I’m just stating my perspective.

This is the Answer: God Says to Adam: Rule over the New Created Earth and all on the Earth, but look now, the Earth Rules over us, because we are forgotten The Ruling Order from God totally xx it is us not Good Him Self

  13. Tim Tull says:

Saying this is God’s response to how “destructive we have become to God’s world” is the Left’s version of the fringe pastors that claimed Hurricane Katrina was God’s response to the gays.

  14. Andrew Beltz says:

If “God is good,” why does he kill 151,600 people every day world wide???
    ????????

  15. Hayden Ariaz says:

It’s a leap to call the virus a plague from God.

  16. Terry Charette Wentworth says:

How do you explain the virus taking most of the elderly and sick

  17. Kathy DeVoss says:

We must remember that we live in a sinful fallen world; illness, death, murder are part of this fallen status

  18. Kathy DeVoss says:

In response to Terry. I am a retired communicable disease nurse
Need to understand that this is one teally nast virus that really likes the hrart and lungs. Those with comorbidities are most invulnerable. Especially heart disease, high blood pressure , diabetes, cancer tx. This was a bat virus that wad injected into pigs. It is a highly contagious virus that is really lethal

  19. Zach Payne says:

I would hold the argument that the virus is definitely man made. However, your response was good

  20. Kathy DeVoss says:

There is no evidence this is man made. It is a naturally occurring virus 8n the animal world. The midtake was tak8ng it out of its natural environment and played with it

  21. Lyn Zee says:

Covid-19 is affecting us because of sin we brought to His world.
    Plain and simple.
It’s a generational curse caused by sin since the fall.

  22. Joe A Smith says:

God is the Standard of good . If not you have relativism

  23. Stewart MacLeod says:

There is precedent for god bringing disaster and disease for those nations who’s sin is really bad. Read Jeremiah, he even tells Jeremiah not to pray for the people.

  24. Joshua Eckhardt says:

Do you understand how weak and illogical your “argument” is? A loving god allows children to lose their parents, innocent people to suffer, and for what? Because SOME people are sinful? That is just plain evil.

The obvious truth is: There is no god. Virus’ happen. Volcanoes happen. Earthquakes happen. Stop pretending that we do not understand the cause.

  25. Shane Johnson says:

Its about control .. a NWO .. Its to keep us apart .. Gonna push it to see how far the can go .. Chipped and Vaxxed n ready to rule in a nutshell

  26. Kathy DeVoss says:

To Joshua. Even the demons believe and tremble

  27. Keith Cantrell says:

    There are no demons.

  28. Kathy DeVoss says:

    Read the scriptures.

  29. Kathy DeVoss says:

In reference to demons. Mat 9:33. James 2:19. Rev 9:20. Deut 32:17. Psalm 106:17

  30. Herb Van Schoick says:

Good response but I don’t think we can really know why God allows bad things, we can only make guesses. The two things we can know for sure is that he is too loving to be unkind and too wise to make a mistake.

  31. Kathy DeVoss says:

My response was to a statement that there are no demons. Just going to the word

  32. Rebekah Yaxley says:

I hope this virus is teaching people how to love according to God’s definition. 1 Corinthians 13. When we put it into practice we see what’s required to happen now – put others first, be outward looking, practice patience, kindness, stop ‘wanting’ everything and sit back, consider what is true and right. For Christians it’s also a good test of where we stand on Romans 13.

  33. Kathy DeVoss says:

Well said and so true. Are our hearts right with God and are we putting the Word into action. What does the nonbeliever see in us that would make them want to know Jesus

  34. Corey Matthew says:

Book of Job. The blind man. Lazarus.

  35. Dale Somers says:

God is in us…the virus is of the world.

  36. Glenn Buchanan says:

I guess my only concern is that you’re misrepresenting God… suggesting that the God of the New Covenant would use any part of the curse to manipulate or adjust our cause even though the New Covenant has removed us from any part of the curse .ln the very way He Has giving us an Utopian life not subject to the curse but really in the end, it is all in what you believe “as a man thinketh so is he”

  37. Robert Coffee says:

Why are you assuming God is responsible. This looks more like the hand of the devil to me

  38. Keith Cantrell says:

Is the devil more powerful than god?

  39. Dave Leaumont says:

First, I would point out that 1 Peter 3:15, the passage from which we get the terminology for the discipline of apologetics, says to “do this with gentleness and respect.” If you think it is harsh, it probably is not in line with Scripture’s guidance.

Second, I recommend reading up on the Problem of Evil. There are great reasoned and convincing arguments out there, and they are as applicable to CoVid 19 as they were for the Indonesian tsunami or any other event. Answers to the Problem of Evil (called Theodicies) have been around since Paul wrote to the Thessalonians. We live in a fallen world. Both humanity is fallen, but we also know from Romans 8 that the earth even groans for redemption.

Here’s a good start on understanding theodicies.

I have written this with a respectful intent and calm mind. I hope it is read in this manner.

  40. Jereme McAlpin says:

I’d just like to point out, nobody would be suffering from this virus if everybody followed the Old Testament dietary commands.

  41. Natalie Nobel says:

Is a trumpet blown in a city, and the people are not afraid? Does disaster come to a city, unless the LORD has done it?
    Amos 3:6
“‘See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god beside me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand. Deuteronomy 32:39

  42. Kathy DeVoss says:

    The inerrancy of scripture

  43. Grant Reedy says:

Typical carnal minded response from a so called Christian.

It really beats me why so called believers have such a low regard for God.

Probably because they have misinterpreted the first 3 chapters of Genesis, though the carnal minded believers would rather embrace their indoctrination than embrace the truth.

Christ did say, many are called but few are chosen, not hard to see why.

  44. Albert Listy says:

I got some clay and I molded it into the shape of a cup. I smoothed it out, I made sure it was a solid design and then I carefully painted it and put it in the kiln.
It was beautiful when it came out.

    I created that cup, right?
If I use it as a pencil holder, is that wrong?
If I drank coffee from it, is that wrong?
What if I decided to smash it into a million pieces, is that wrong?

If you answered no to all of those, you would be correct. As the creator of that cup, I can do with it whatever I choose.

If that is true, why should we expect anything different from God and what he has created?

  45. Claudia Mejia says:

satan lucifer came as a thief to STEAL our freedom KILL our loved ones and to DESTROY our lives cause we were lazy stubborn and ignorant generation as God called us…..we must repent and ask Jesus to saved us JESUS is our only HERO the only one that can restore our FREEDOM from the new humanism new world order…….
