It’s funny you should say that. The reason we met Sunday for church is because, since the beginning, every Sunday was a celebration of the resurrection.

No, He did not command us to celebrate his death or resurrection. However, nor does the Bible condemn it. If we, as believers, choose to celebrate something (His resurrection) or remember something (His crucifixion) we are free to do so.

Did our Lord command that we use electricity, drive vehicles, use internet, watch TV, etc., yet we do. Not everything in our life, our choices of celebrations, holidays, feast, things, people, places, history, many things we do aren’t biblically based, doesn’t mean God is against it or that we’re being pagan if we do it. Witches use all the same things in their daily life that we do, doesn’t mean we’re a witch if we do them. Back in the day a wedding celebration had pagan roots, yet Jesus went to one. Drinking wine was put down, yet He turned water into wine. God looks at your heart, not your outward appearance. God said to work out your own salvation, not to let any man judge you as to what you eat, what festival you celebrate, or anything else really. He is each person’s judge, He knows your heart. Your also not supposed to cause your brother to stumble, let the Holy Spirit convict a individual on what they do and why. Some religion’s think pictures are a graven image and you shouldn’t take them and hang them on your wall, do you agree with that? Leave choices between God and that person, they will work it out.

Pesach (Passover) and the beginning of Shavuot (the Feast of Weeks or Firstfruits) are the Biblical assigned times (Feast Days) when these things happened.
So no to Good Friday, but yes to his death and resurrection as the Feast Days of God are his calendar spelling out his plan for humanity.

HE DID CELEBRATE the PASSOVER and all the festivals that God accept. we celebrate his RESURRECTION !!!!! is the VICTORY over DEATH !!!he WON!!! easter is a pagan festival so we MUST call it RESURRECTION DAY and we should NOT celebrate HALLOWEEN

I don’t think so. For starters, I think Jesus died on Wednesday at 3 PM local time. Second, Paul passed on the institution of the Lord’s Supper, writing “For as often as you eat and drink”. So it’s not just once a year thing.

The most important events of all history are that Jesus died on the cross and that Jesus rose again. How can Christians possibly not commemorate that. We are COMMANDED to every time we take communion which appears to have been done regularly in the Bible, perhaps weekly. Sunday worship began to commemorate Jesus’ resurrection. To commemorate the annual Holy Week is also very fitting. Jesus death and resurrection are much more important then any of the Old Testament rituals and holidays they commemorated.

Since ancient Israel, the people of God have celebrated important divine events. Christians do not operate like ancient Israel, being commanded to observe such things. They do so in freedom and joy. The most important thing a Christian can celebrate is the Lord’s resurrection. What better thing could there be to rejoice over.

Baptismal by immersion is a celebration of Jesus death and resurrection.. dying daily in sin is our act of celebrating this so vicarious act over sin..I was never instituted even in the new testament that we should celebrate Easter…it’s a pagan Rome institution imposed by the Roman Catholic during the Roman empire with all its Easter Bunnies and all..show me a scripture that sanctioned Easter…

He did instruct us to take and eat. “This is my body. Which is broken for you.” And, “Drink. For this is my blood. Shed for the remission of sins”. We as believers wether commanded or not should also celebrate his Resurrection, and conquering death wether he commanded it or not. Lol..

1 Corinthians 11:24 ►
and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” ,,,, What do we remember of Him? His birth, why He came, what He taught, what He did, what He commissioned and commanded, His death, burial and resurrection, and that He’s coming back. There’s a lot to remember. -
That ordinance of the Lord’s supper has been there before the crucifixion..that we do commemorate I’m fine with that…as for Easter… never came across any scriptural references concerning it’s celebrations..

If you really want to be Biblical then Good Friday is really Passover and Resurrection Day (which is OK by me) is First Fruits. Don’t ever forget our faith’s Jewish Roots. Now the days do not always coincide but I would rather be on the Biblical side.
