Ok. Some of y’all surprise me. Why are a lot of you here? To boast your knowledge or to help people? Cause I see a lot of you who are just arrogant when people simply just ask a question and frankly, as a Christian, it’s embarrassing.

Broad statement, I think the majority of us here want to edify each other build in knowledge and understanding and guide people to Christ. We must also remember that people are at different levels theologically.

Some people view the sharing of knowledge as arrogant. For me, I enjoy answering questions. But if I’m going to answer them, I like to provide information on why I believe the way I do, not out of arrogance but as a desire to encourage others to study.

Totally agree with you. It’s the men who are extremely ARROGANT, CONDESCENDING, PRIDEFUL! It is embarrassing. It’s like a knowledge contest. Very argumentative. I really don’t believe they’re actually Christian. Just like Stuart Voce. You tell him what you’re feeling and observing and he ARGUES with you. Lol!!! Unbelievable

I do recommend reading the entire chapter and any parallel verses may be noted in your Bible to understand the message in its entirety.
Even though we are supposed to have conversations (arguements – look up the definition ?) that defend our faith, we are also instructed to do so with meekness and fear.
I am sorry and saddened to hear your discouragement. Please know that this is not in the hearts of every Christian that comes to apologetically stand their ground.
The Bible itself tells us but all scripture is good for teaching and instruction. The Bible also tells us that as women we are subjective unto men; but it also tells us men are supposed to uphold the righteousness and show the same love that God shows them, so that our prayers would not be hindered.
It is also our job as women, and in the Bible, that when we see or know this we are to privately encourage our men to hear the word of God so that they may know and learn and take the forefront as our protectors and teachers.
Keeping in mind that we are in a modern era and modern times we must also remember It is the internet and of course it is Facebook…

For the amount of wisdom Jesus had, He had just as much compassion!….. EVEN for the Pharisees and others who rejected Him2 Peter 3:9 – “…….Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

Amen to this!! Let’s show the attitude and love of Christ in how we respond. “Speak the truth in love”, and remember Jesus was harshest in His earthly ministry with religious people who were self-righteous, arrogant and harshly condemning of others.

Most of them never took a formal class on Apologetics.
and they think the goal is to destroy your opponent but the goal is to educate with the same love that God showed us -

Rudeness and arrogance are not cool,but I also realize that we live in the P.C. culture where people get easily offended and need a safe spaces…yet sometimes (especially when conversing with non-believers, we need to develop thick skins)

It not too hard to keep it simple. Confusion isn’t good. That’s scriptural.

I agree with this. Before we comment maybe we can reflect on 1 Corinthians 13. There is no greater calling on us than to love others as we are loved by Christ. Our Bible tells us what love is and what it is not.

Hurting people hurt people. We are in a hospital for sick sinners. I once visited a grumpy patient in hospital. The nurse came in and he bitterly complained to her. She answered with humour and a sweet disposition. I’ll never forget her example.

but..there’s no comparison in this post, I can’t distinguish if this is a tender snowflake generation complaining or one of knowledge and wisdom speaking a word of truth -

My experience has been similar thus far but I’m on the other side of the aisle.

Don’t let people who can’t explain the simple context of Apologetics disappoint you. They’re in every area of life. They boast their position rather than helping those who don’t know. I only have taken one apologetics class, and this area is filled with its own vocabulary.
All I can say is study everyday to what God wants in your life. But if it’s true to Apologetics: remember location, date, people of history and even those who don’t believe could be a good source of information.

You’ll have to weave through the arrogant ones ? I was granted access, after a year of seclusion, to the “cool people table” who utilize Theological terminology, only after doing thine own research.?

Don’t think too much about it. It’s Easter and we celebrate Jesus death and resurrection. That’s the most important event in universal history.
