If Jesus was the only son of God, then why do Christians call themselves “Children if God”?

Let me straighten something the angels are called sons of God also we are called children of God Jesus the Christ it’s called the only begotten son of God that is different from all the rest and because Christ is in us and we are in him he being our elder We are called sons of God only because of him. He is the only begotten son of God no of the angel no other person has that honor and privilege.. But all creatures created and made by God as children of God

Note that the King James unlike something other versions, says that Jesus is the only BEGOTTEN son of God. So we as Christians are the children of God, but only Jesus is the son in the sense of having been “begotten” of the same essence as the Father.

Jesus is THE Son of God, believers are children of God. He is referred to as our elder brother (Romans 8:29, Heb 2:12).

In scripture only those who are directly created by God are called “sons of God”. Such as Adam and Eve, all angels Jesus Christ and all born again Christians.

We are sons becos (I paraphrase heb 2v10) to make perfect the captain of their salvation thru suffering in the bringing of MANY SONS TO GLORY -
Jesus is the Son of God because he is part of the 1 God from which comes the Holy Trinity. Christian’s are children of God because we believe God’s promise.
