Luke alone uses “firstborn” to describe the first born into a household. Other NT authors use the Greek word to refer to “one of a kind,” that is, “unique.” Use your concordance and it will confirm what I just said.

Speaking of Jesus
Jesus is called first born because He is the firstborn Spiritually (Acts 13:33). Yes He is the Father clothed in flesh, and the rest of us who get saved also have the Fathers Spirit. The difference between us and Jesus is that we have our own soul where Jesus had the Fathers. He did nothing of himself but what the Father (Spirit) told him (human) to do. He spoke the Fathers words and came in the Fathers name. Jesus: YHWH saves.
“Firstborn” I think was just a title of privilege. The firstborn son got the inheritance. Therefore, God called Israel His firstborn son (Ex 4:22) even though they weren’t literally born first as a nation or anything like that. Colossians 1:15 also speaks of the Son of God being the firstborn of all creation. Well the Son of God wasn’t created but He is the “firstborn” in the sense as He is given authority over creation

Postmodernism says you make your own meaning but to be sure that is not really how you get objective Truth. There is an objective Truth, and if there is, it is dangerous to be intellectually dishonest with yourself.
