If the bible is the evidence for Christianity, why is the Quran not evidence for Islam?

They both claim to be the words of the same God.

Islam calls Jesus the messiah, born of a virgin, it says an angel spoke to Mary and said that she would have him and he would be a word from God, Jesus breathed life into clay and created a living bird (as also recorded in the ‘Infancy Gospel of Thomas’ – a Christian gospel that didn’t make it into the bible).

If one is evidence, why isn’t the other? It is claimed there is no other book like the Quran. So why is it not evidence? Why is the bible evidence of the Quran is not?

    The difference is in the eye witnesses of the life and ministry of Jesus. The Koran was written 700 years after Jesus by a vagabond trader who “claimed” that he had a visitation from gabriel while in a cave. Understand the difference? Much of the Korean and the hadith were written after mo’s death further removing it from ANY verifiable source. Believe something that’s has been verified and proven over and over via archeology and other extra biblical sources or believe something that’s a made up fairy tale. You chose.

    Matthew Kennedy why not take this time to have a read of Nabeel Qureshi’s Seeking Allah Finding Jesus. This question has been asked and answered on so many levels by so many people. Nabeel left his devout Muslim faith to follow Jesus Christ and made an enormous sacrifice to do so – worth a read.

    The Bible contains what no other religious book contains.
    Verifiable fulfilled prophecy which the Laws of Probability reveal its source to be supernatural.
    No other book contains one prophecy. The Bible has over a thousand…
    The Law of Probability
    After examining only eight different prophecies (even though he could have used 456) Professor Emeritus of Science at Westmont College, and former chairman of the Department of Mathematics and Astronomy at Pasadena City College, Peter Stoner, has calculated the probability of one man fulfilling the major prophecies made concerning the Messiah. The eight prophecies, which could not be self-fulfilled are; 1) Place of birth … Micah 5:2; 2) Time of birth … Daniel 9:25, Genesis 49:10; 3) Manner of birth … Isaiah 7:14; 4) Betrayal for thirty pieces of silver … Zechariah 11:12,13; 5) Manner of death … Psalm 22:16; 6) Peoples reactions, (mocking, spitting, staring), Psalm 22:7,8; 7) Piercing … Zechariah 12:10; ? Burial … Isaiah 53:9. The estimates were worked out by twelve different classes of 600 college students. The students carefully weighed all the factors, discussed each prophecy at length, and examined the various circumstances which might indicate that men had conspired together to fulfill a particular prophecy. They made their estimates conservative enough so that there was finally unanimous agreement among even the most skeptical students. Not only that, but when Professor Stoner took their estimates and made them even more conservative, he also encouraged other skeptics and scientist to make their own estimates to prove that his conclusions were more than fair.
    Finally, he submitted his figures for review to a Committee of the American Scientific Affiliation. Upon examination, they verified that his calculations were dependable and accurate in regard to the scientific material presented. For example, concerning Micah 5:2, where it states that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem, Stoner and his students determined the average population of Bethlehem from the time of Micah to the present; then they divided it by the average population of the earth during the same period. They concluded that the chance of one man being born in Bethlehem was one in 2.8 x 10 to the 5th power – or rounded, one in 300,000.
    After examining eight different prophecies, they conservatively estimated that the chance of one man fulfilling all eight prophecies was one in 10 to the 17th power. To illustrate how large the number 10 to the 17th power is (a figure with 17 zeros) Stoner gave this illustration… Imagine covering the entire state of Texas with silver dollars to a level of two feet deep. The total number of silver dollars needed to cover the whole state would be 10 to the 17th power. Now, choose just one of those silver dollars, mark it and drop it from an airplane. Thoroughly stir all the silver dollars all over the state. When this has been done, blindfold one man. Tell him he can travel wherever he wishes in the state of Texas. Tell him that somewhere along the way, he must stop and reach down into the two feet of silver dollars and try to pull up the one specific silver dollar that has been marked. What do you think his chances are? Well, the chance of his finding that one silver dollar in the state of Texas is the same chance the prophets had of eight of their prophecies being fulfilled in any one man in the future.
    In financial terms, is there anyone who would not invest in a financial venture if the chance of failure were only one in 10 to the 17th power? This kind of sure investment we are offered by God for belief in Christ His Messiah. Professor Stoner concludes: “The fulfillment of these eight prophecies alone proves that God inspired the writing of those prophecies to a definiteness which lacks only one chance in 10 to the 17th power of being absolute.

    If one is Truth then the other has to be false because they are in direct contradiction. Inorder to find the correct one look at fulfilled prophecies from both the Bible and Quran and whichever one has predicted the future correctly is itself correct.

    The Quran , Surah 4 something , I think says the to follow the gospel and the book.
    Thru there own word

    The Quran also says that Gods word Cannot be corrupted… they say what we have now the old and New Testaments have been corrupted!

    Both must be measured for the claims they make. The Koran gets the trinity wrong, and by that , I mean it reports already existing Christian views wrong, wouldn’t God know what others believe? It comes much later, and it has a much less reliable manuscript history (Uthman’s gatherings and purgings for example.)

    The Bible has scientific facts, historical accounts backed up by archeology and numerous fulfilled prophecies. The quran literally recommends drinking camel urine.

    So which one is right ? I can connect quite unmistakable God of the Bible to all creation. Here it is, that’s how I know which God is a creator. So what is known about God. He is ONE !! One God, the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.. wow I said one God but I named three persons, that’s the mystery isn’t it. In Colossians 2/9 we read that in Jesus the fullness of Deity dwells bodily. FULNES it says. In Romans 1/19,20 we read all we have to know about God He revealing in creation. So God is ONE full in trinity of Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, unity in diversity. Creation= ONE universe full in trinity of time space matter. Cannot have just space and matter without time because when would you put that matter in the space. All three are meaningless without being trinity. Time=ONE time full in trinity of past present future, again impossible to separate them. Space= ONE space full in trinity of high depth length (3D). Matter=ONE Matter full in trinity of solid liquid gas, and it goes on even atoms are like that. ONE atom full in trinity of electrons protons and neutrons. I can see Gods unique imprint in all He created. I mean He claims to Be One full in trinity thousands of years before we understand this physical basics about our universe. I am not comparing our God to some simple stuff, but for me it was a revelation How can God claim to be One yet three. There is a big difference between three and trinity. Trinity is something that you cannot separate if yo do two other don’t make sense anymore. Like the trial edges, take one away it’s no more triangle. Gods unite imprint is revealed in ALL CREATION. It is a unity in diversity. We are unable to create single atoms like that

    Well, the Quran is inaccurate about a few historical things, like identifying Mary the mother of Jesus with Mariam, sister of Moses. Christianity is also supported by other secular documents, like Josephus.

    – getting rid of sin and have righteousness as a way of salvation unto heaven.

    There’s a drastic difference between Christianity and Islam. As a matter of fact, Christianity stands apart from the rest.

    Muslims deny that Jesus actually died on the cross. Plus the gospel of Thomas is a Gnostic literature based on pseudo writings. It does not add up compared to the canon nor does it contain ANY indication that it was divinely inspired.

    You need to figure it out yourself.
    Humans read facts from testimonies instead of evidence. The Bible is made of testiminies from eyewitness accounts. Quran is a hearsay because Mohammed is not an eyewitness account, he acquired his info from a self proclaimed angel. While all OT prophets are direct eyewitnesses of God to acquire info from God directly.

    Because Jesus is the promised Messiah who came to life, died and resurrected. The Bible is written by eye witnesses of God’s involvement with Israel and the life of Jesus.

    Qoran is one book written by one man that builds upon and plagiarized the Bible, centuries later years after the Bible, Judaism and Christianity was written and established.

    They deny Christ is the Son of God, they deny Christ died on the Cross and rose again the 3 rd day.
    They deny Christ died for the sins of mankind.
    They call the Holy Spirit their prophet.
    They have some parts of the Old Testament and reject most of the New Testament especially Paul.

    They don’t realise that all prophets are Jews and that they had the anointing of the Spirit of God to do the will and purpose of God, which included miracles as confirmation they were chosen by God.
    They also failed to realise that Christ fulfilled the Laws, ended Theocracy and gave direct access to God to both Jews and Gentiles.

    They were busted before they even got off the ground, as many others as well including the RCC and all who followed.

    Islam has many scientific inaccuracies. 1. Surah 86:6-7, semen originated from a spot between the backbone and ribs. 2. Flat earth, sirah 13:3; 15:19; 50:7. 3. Surah 51:49, all things created in pairs. 4. Shooting stars, Surah 15:16-18; 37:6-10; 72:8-9. Stars are like fires in the sky to guard heaven against demons. The demons want to hear what God is saying. 5. The sun settles in muddy waters, Surah 18:86. Theres many more including historical inaccuaracies.

    Both are close and at some point , God is call by the Arabic Allah (Arabic name for god) and we as Christians. All him as he made himself to the Jews, Jehovah. The Quran seems to validate Islam approach to God and the holy scriptures of Christianity do the same with form evidence of the existence of Jesus as a man living over 2,000 years ago while I believe existed some 1700 years Ago. While Jesus did not refer to himself as a prophet of God, He certainly identified John the Baptist as the greatest prophet .
    Matt 11:1-12,v7-12. Indeed the Son of God has to be seen as “thee PROPHET “ of God and more cause he came from God to man and He return to God cause of man.
    I have not read of any other man of any other religion who have paid the sin debt for all humanity and so satisfied the justice of God. Not one!!

    THAT IMMEDIATELY disqualifies it as a FALSE GOSPEL, because it’s a SATANIC LIE.

    Paul warns us about liars like muhummad in Galatians 1:8-9, 600 YEARS before muhummad was born. 600 years before muhummad ever founded his violent, murderous, pedophillic cult, islam. 600 years after Jesus Christ declared on the cross: “IT IS FINISHED!”

    In fact it’s so important Paul LITERALLY REPEATS HIMSELF in verse 9.

    Quran 5:47 says that allah commands us to judge by the Judeo-Christian Gospel found in the Bible, and we are all no better than rebel apostates to islam if we don’t.

    Therefore the quran assumes and declares that Christians have RELIABLE scriptures.

    Of course, if we obey “allah” and judge by the Judeo-Christian Gospel, we MUST judge that islam is false, because islam CLEARLY contradicts the Judeo-Christian Gospel.

    Why?

    The Judeo-Christian Gospel declares that Jesus died on the cross.

    600 years later, the quran in sura 4:157 claims that Jesus didn’t die on the cross and that a disciple died in His place.

    Again, the quran CLEARLY tells us to judge by the Judeo-Christian Gospel! Therefore if we listen to the quran, we have to REJECT the quran as a false gospel.

    Not only that, but 600 years before muhammad made up islam, the Bible warns in Galatians 1:8-9 about islam and muhummad saying that even if we, or an angel from heaven should preach a Gospel contrary to the one the Apostles preached, (Christ was crucified, resurrected and risen) let them be eternally accursed.

    Therefore, according to the QURAN… THE QURAN completely declares itself A FALSE GOSPEL!

    And all faithful muslims should do as the quran as allah commands and REJECT THE QURAN AS A FALSE GOSPEL.

    If they dont, they call allah and muhummad a liar.

    A slight correction, they do not claim to be words of the same God/god. The God of Israel has a different name and a completely different character than the god of Islam.

    It’s simple. Jesus was raised from the dead. There were many witnesses to this. No other “religion” has the consistency, witnesses of a truly supernatural event, and fulfillment of Old Testament prophesy.

    A BEST ANSWER IS THE HISTORY.
    Paul said in Galatians 1:8 that if we or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you,than that which we have preached unto you,let him be accursed.
    When Mohd received from angel gabriel, as they tell. This is still the dispensation of grace or the church age. Which Paul warns us.
    But the only time an angel is allowed to preach is in the tribulation. REV.14:6, preaching the everlasting Gospel…

    In Islam Jesus is neither the Son of God nor the saviour of man. The God of the Bible is the father of Jesus Christ while the God of Islam is not therefore they are different. Remember that Muhammed lived 5 centuries after the founding of Christianity. He borrowed a lot from Christianity and Judaism and came up with his own version of religion.

    I was going to submit an answer, but a lot of you said what I was going to say, so I will just say this…..if something that was written 700 years later about an event or concept is different from the original, the person pushing that concept does not have their facts straight

    Matthew Kennedy The Quran IS evidence for Islam, the same way the Bible is evidence for Christianity. They’re both historical texts that show the origin of these religions and the core belief. They’re evidence these religions exist and a basis for “the rules”/guidelines of each.
