Honest question to the honest atheist:
If you believe that there was “nothing” and then “something” sprung forward from nothingness, can you please explain this process?
If you do not believe that “something” came from “nothing”, what was the very first “something” and how did it come to “be”?
This is an honest question for honest thinkers. Please do not try and reverse the question with strawmen and red herrings.
So I’m not sure of an atheist who accepts your scenario.
We don’t know if something can come from nothing because we’ve never had an example if nothing, in the way you’re using nothing, to investigate.
As far as we can tell, the big bang was an expansion of matter. How the matter originated, we have No idea.
That’s the honest answer.

As a Christian I’m beginning to tire of the ‘something from nothing ‘ argument we throw at atheists. We believe the same thing. What did God create the heavens and the earth out of in the beginning?

Look..when we say that God made everythng from nothing , we are basically taking God’s word for it. That doesn’t make sense to a non believer who has no faith in God. That;s why it;s called faith. And no..it cannot be proved scientifically nor does it make any sense.

Well I can only answer this from my personal understanding of the world as a Christian. When we say nothing I take it we mean the universe. I agree it did not exist once, so it had a begining a cause the universe has a cause because it had a begining something started it. For me personally before the universe came into being the spiritual was there it had always existed something we find hard to imagine as we think everghing that exists has to be created has to have a cause for its existence. But this is not a discription of the God of the bible for he is an eternal spiritual being who had no begining he existed outside of time and space as we call it, for in the realm of eternity time and space as we call it don’t exist. This Spiritual force existing outside of time and space created the universe and space time as we call it began. The spiritual force is the parent force of space time. I think of the universe as a bubble being created for a specific purpose. The being who created it must have unlimited wisdom in all fields understanding all physical laws but way beyond that understanding everything for in that being everything exists. The spiritual is eternal the physical is temporal the sun will burn out etc we know this entropy is an observed fact. I suggest that the spiritual force known as God created all matter all physical things within the space time universe he created for them. We look a little way into the universe and we wonder in awe at the beauty the order and the vastness of it which we cannot even see the end of. We seem to have built into us a need to know how this all came about. The question is how do we get something from nothing? I have offered my answer for this, it’s from the spiritual God is that unseen missing cause he is the parent force, the eternal spiritual created all the temporal physical for his purposes. The spiritual purposes for creating the physical realm are reveal to mankind through the Spirit of God and have been written down by men who encountered him throughout mankind’s history. There’s more but that’s all I am going to write for now.

People, when we propose the cosmological argument we are committing a false dichotomy fallacy and a personal incredulity fallacy. We need to do better. I think we have better arguments like the argument from design as an example.

Something did come from nothing… made so by something. Ever consider the true meaning of “the First Day”? The most Ancient of all Days? Hmmmm…
Bottom line is they also believe in an ultimate at bottom just is fundamental reality. Which by definition would be eternal, allpowerful and uncaused. God by definition. They just would rather spell it with different letters instead of G O D.

Without God’s self-revelation, this is the best explanation the world will ever come up with.

To be honest…..I am a theist and a realist……I conceive there is a God…..I cannot prove it……..And being a realist…. I also believe in reality and physic……
I don’t believe in biology evolution, that is, life coming from non-living matter. But that is my belief.
I believe the earth is millions of years old, and has been calculated by math’s and planetary observations. ……Proving the earth is not 6000 thousands years old.
Scientist are not in the job of proving a God exist. They are more interested in how the universe works.
They make predictions on what they know…….for example, for many years they predicted a planet was causing an effect on their calculations but had never seen it…
But that prediction came true, when they discovered Pluto.
They are more inclined to believe there is something rather than nothing for the universe.
If one makes the prediction God created it out of nothing……Than you have to demonstrate that…..
Can you for example, do an experiment showing God creating something out of nothing?
Maybe, we are all apart of God made out of him, her or it.
No atheists can answer either questions honestly so they dodge both. But anyone who doesn’t believe in God must believe everything came out of nothing by itself which is impossible.

Atheist believe an explosion of matter, scattered that existing matter, then matter turned into thinking matter with enough years. Is that what I’m hearing?
