Did God Allow It?
The predominant theology of Christians today when faced with life changing circumstances is that “God allowed it.” After all, “God is in control” and “in everything there is a purpose.” Sadly, none of this is accurate and has left the Body of Christ paralyzed, misrepresenting God to others, and cooperating with the work of the enemy.
Today we are hearing that God “allowed” a virus to attack the world for some mysterious reason. Some say that the virus is meant to bring men to repentance. This begs the question, why does it say that Jesus sent the church into the world with the Good News? Why doesn’t it say that He sent viruses into the world?
Let’s look at the word “allow.” “Give (someone) permission to do something.” When some say that God allowed the virus, they are saying that God gave permission for the virus to do its damage by killing thousands around the world. God has become the perpetrator or an accessory to mass killing. If a man was behind the genocide of tens of thousands, he would be considered a criminal worthy of imprisonment or death. But if its God, its OK.
Is God “allowing” (giving permission) to abortion, sex trafficking, cancer, slavery, hurricanes, child abuse, and every other horrible thing that we see in the earth? No.
Go back to the Garden of Eden. God “allowed” Adam and Eve to eat of every tree of the Garden. He did NOT allow them to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. He forbade them from eating from that tree. That tree was the revealer of man’s heart. Man chose the words of a serpent over the instructions of God. God didn’t allow evil in the earth. Adam did. God had given the earth to man and had to honor man’s choices. Evil is not from God. Evil came from Adam who chose to be independent from God.
God has not allowed abortion, sex trafficking, cancer, slavery, hurricanes, child abuse, and every other horrible thing. In fact, He sent Jesus to redeem us from evil and equip us to overcome it. What God has allowed is for us to be born again, carry His Name, be filled with His Spirit, walk in His covenant, use His promises, His gifts, and the keys to His Kingdom. We have His authority. We can bring healing to the sick, freedom to the oppressed, peace to the storms of life, and we can share a message of life from the dead. God has given us His permission.
The evil in the earth is not His will. He is not using it for His glory. He wants to use His children for His glory, but most are attributing evil to Him and slandering His Name.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. (James 1:17)
God willed that evil exists for his Glory. God did not cause it yet he ordained it. In willing evil to exist he displayed is love, mercy, forgiveness and righteousness.
God created both good and evil. Says so in the bible

So is this saying the virus is outside of God’s control?
Y’all need to brush up on the apocalyptic chapters of the Bible !
And you would not be surprised by this current crisis that the world faces
Isaiah 45: 7 “I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.”
It has dual explanation. first, We can say God is responsible for evil by creating humans with free will, capable of doing evil. Who would argue that humans should be created as robots?
Second, when God administer justice such as sending Adam and Eve into death, old age and suffering; it’s said to be bringing “evil” upon people, from human perspective.
Every truth of the scripture must be told. God does not only bring the gospel, He also brings plagues, famines, swords etc. God is the one makes weal and creates woos. Or are you the one, who killed all the first born of Egypt?

While this post is emotionally comforting, it eventually leads to Open Theism, meaning we deny that God exactly knows what will and would happen in the future
If you think about it, if God knows what will and would happen in the future, it means He knows that this virus is coming. So if God knows that this virus is coming, we’re implying either of the following:
– God is incompetent as He saw the virus coming, didn’t allow it, tried to stop it, but failed
– God simply doesn’t care as He saw the virus coming but chosen not to do anything about it
It’s really absurd that we affirm either of the 2 above, so the only logical conclusion if we believe that God knows the future is that He allowed that virus for a purpose
God is Sovereign! There is not one rogue molecule in the universe. God is in control.
This comes the word freewill given to human that everything you do or sow either bad or good there is always fruit or consequence.n it’s accountable to God…
Most of our disaster are man made,caused by the greedy Ness of mankind,wars famine,ect
Are you saying man or satan ( created beings) are more powerful than God? Have you bothered reading the old testament? God sent famines pestilence , etc
If this virus is the only thing that would get a busy secularist to call out to God, to seek Him, is it not then God’s grace? If it causes Christians to share the gospel more, if it causes Christians to pray more, depend on Christ more, read His Word more, is it not ultimately good?
It is yet another opportunity for non believers and believers alike to wake up to the fact that this life is soon passing away and to focus on what is eternal. That is ultimately God’s grace.
Simple Truth suffering leads to salvation. God
allows the consequences of free will and the fall to take place to drive us to our knees and seek him, and seek Christ our only way to salvation. Amen
