There are no “missing verses.” Certain scribes added explanatory notations that were not included in the texts they were copying. Once older sources were discovered, that did not contain such verses, they were removed or footnoted. To claim that God can create the universe but NOT preserve His Word is utterly ridiculous. In doing so, you dismiss Him as weak, and that is mighty dangerous territory.
I use to be KJV only too until I found out they changed 1 John 5:7. Pro trinity change which made me go straight NASB.

The KJV omits some things also. It’s not one sided.
John 14:14 is another difference in the modern versions and the KJV.
Here it is in the NASB.

14 If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.
Now here it is in the KJV.

Notice “me” is not in the KJV. Is the KJV trying to water down the deity of Christ by not saying you can pray to him? Or is the text the KJV used to translate not have “me” in there? I think it’s just the later.

Notice “who by the Holy Spirit “is not in the KJV. Are the KJV translators trying to deny the Holy Spirit’s role in the inspiration of scripture? If you use KJV Only logic, than that’s what you’d have to assume. However, if things like logic, reason and facts are important to us, than we can draw the real logical conclusion that the KJV translators were just using the Greek texts they had in their possession. There’s textual variants in both Greek texts that have some effect on essential Christian doctrine, however, none of the essential Christian doctrines are absent from either Greek text.
I don’t understand why the KJV only crowd think that only these scholars were capable of correctly translating. Do they suppose that no one after this has ever been educated enough?

James White wrote an excellent book “The Kings James Controversy” which is great for the layperson to obtain a good grasp on the some of the arguments. I use several versions in my studies, but prefer the ESV over the rest, however anytime there is a translation from any language to another there is also some “interpretation” being instilled into the translation. I believe God has maintained the accurate content of His Word in all modern translations that will equip the saints for the work of the Gospel of Jesus Christ thru eternity, with the exception of direct mistranslations such as the New World Translation from the JWs.
So if I can read ancient Hebrew and Koine Greek fluently and have access to the Textus Receptus, I should still default to the KJV because….?

As an Apologist, I’m very comfortable with the “New King James Version.” For you “King James only” Christians, most followers will come away with a better understanding of God’s words with the “New King James” and it still maintains the word for word translation, but avoids words that mean nothing to most modern-day most readers.
As a Preacher, when teaching those whose primary language is not English, the KJV can be very difficult for them! My mom and dad, now with the Lord, both used a KJV, but that’s what they were brought up on. And when you say, “King James” only, which version are you referring to?
I came to Christ using a NIV version, knowing what I do today, that it’s is a “thought for thought” rather than a “word for word” translation, I would not use it as my primary version. But it got me interested in the word of God and it contained the gospel and I would have never read the KJV at that time, I tried, but put it down. If you’re comfortable with the KJV and its archaic language, then it’s the version for you.
Of course, one can be shown the Gospel with any Christian version of Holy Writ. Just make sure you’re NOT causing dissension [DISCORD] between Christians, which God HATES! Everyone is NOT at the same level and sometimes there’s a lot to be said when someone has a version that they can and will read and understand.
Of course, I use a multitude of versions. I have other Pastor buddies who use this version or the KJV or a NASB, etc.
You’ll sometimes find the KJV being used when selling Christian materials by those who don’t regularly teach with this version. Why? It’s beyond the copy write time frame, so they don’t have to pay a fee.
When comparing some passages, with a another Pastor buddy, who has studied Greek and Hebrew, we found in many cases, regarding Hell, that the NKJV was holding more accurately to the original language than the KJV. In other cases, the KJV may prove to be a better translation.
Pray about it and choose a version. Don’t look down on a Christian because they do or do not use a specific version. Our belief in Christ, NOT which Bible version we use, is why we are going to Heaven! Blessings!

Not here, too! I get so tired of all the lies and nonsense spread by the KJV Onlyists. Learn Greek and Hebrew, then start reading and comparing. You will be surprised what you find. Textus Receptus sprang into being in the 9th to 10th centuries AD. No connection to the early manuscripts, which are much closer to the originals. And copyist mistakes abound. So many additions and incorporations into the text, and all of them have been found, traced and followed.
The puritans used the Geneva bible not the king James bible.
It’s amazing how someone calls the KJV cults when the KJB has been around for more than 200 years before any modern translations were even conceived. If anything is a cult it is the modern translations.
As far as verifying if the translation is true to Hebrew and Greek, the KJB translators have not given any reason to question their accuracy. Their translation is over 400 years old and has withstood constant attacks.
The modern translations have multiple copyrights and the nasb has 10. That means that the modern translations are constantly changing. This constant changing I can understand the uncertainty that many readers have and have to rely back to the Greek and Hebrew to verify the translation.
I read “New Age Bible Versions” by Gail Riplinger and other books like it almost 30 years ago. These books that claim that “every translation other than the KJV is Satanic or inferior” are all misleading and seek to prey and profit from people who have a very shallow understanding of how the Bible came down to us, as it is today. I have read them all, and I’m telling you the truth – books like this one from Gail Riplinger are only divisive and a waste of time.
Oh yay. A KJV only person who doesnt realize that KJV is actually one of the least accurate versions (nor was it the first.) They had far fewer manuscripts to work with that were dated further away from Christs life than the ones used today. Add that to the fact that we have advanced much further in translations and those languages. Oh and KJV even has many scriptures where they couldnt translate the words so they simply inserted what they think was supposed to go there.

But God died in 1611 according to you because only brain dead individuals exist after 1611. If God had individuals in the past unless you believe in a limited God then there are gifted individuals today who have done what was done in the past. Hence pokes holes in your brain dead position unless you can prove the perfect in 1 Cor. 13 referes to only the KJV 1611 text, but which text, Cambridge or Oxford? If you can nail modern translations for footnotes, textual variations, and the like the KJV should be held to the same criteria you unmerciful sacrosancts pronounce the KJV as sacrosanct. Unless you believe KJV was handled to the committee’s like Joseph Smith’s golden tablets, then I think there have been in the human document not inspired by the Holy Spirit a mere translation subject to the same foibles you hypocrites project on other translations while whitewashing the KJV.
