Those who believe in “objective” and unchanging morality: Do you believe it is objectively wrong to stab children with swords, kill gay people for having sex, and permanently enslave human beings?
If so, why did the Bible god command and/or authorize all of these actions? Each action was deemed morally acceptable by god. Otherwise, he would not have commanded and/or approved of these behaviors.

God created us all and He alone can decide what to do with us. Many people also try to compare the old testament, Mosaic theocracy to the new testament of grace, without really understanding the difference.

If you refer to the killings the Israelites did under God’s command, it was all about conquest over resistant enemies preventing them from taking the promised Land.

Hey let’s repackage the “problem with evil” argument
First you must ask, is it moral for the Judge above judges to allow the people who were enslaving others, sacrificing their children to idols, and practicing every variety of sexual deviancy(even beastiality) to ignore their actions? God could not allow them to continue, so he sent His people to judge them.
It would have been immoral and unjust for God to allow these people to continue on unabated.
God doesn’t need to accept modern and contemporary moral ethics. On the other hand, many of those rules were 100% OT, preparing God’s people for the real sacrifice for sin – Jesus. Now we follow him and not the commands gave to the ancient Israelites to secure a land for God’s people. In fact, if you compare ancient Israel with the surrounding nations, they were a lot worse when it came to killing babies. Although certainly temple prostitutes, male and female, were certainly a very ugly blot on the surrounding nations, too.
God drowned all humanity except for 8 souls for their wickedness. I’m sure they all thought they were pretty good people. God used Israel, a theocracy, as His instrument to punish evil as they claimed the promise land. I can’t imaging how brutalizing that was for the Jewish soldier to slaughter all life, but it dramatizes the seriousness of sin to God. Our modern political institutions are ordained by God to maintain order and prevent lawlessness. Modern western government is not a theocracy and we shouldn’t expect largely unbelieving nations to maintain christian religious purity. If we were able to change the laws to align with our morality, the majority of our nation would grit their teeth and probably have a greater false notion that they were sufficiently ethical and moral.
TBH I cannot tell you why God did what He did and why He commanded it. What I can tell you is that He had a purpose for doing so that would only benefit us in the long run. God saw something in the future that would turn out terrible if He let those children, and people live. So He as the creator of Earth decided to take action and mitigate any possible outcome of pure evil rising up.
I trust that answering difficult question from the bible will glorify God. But I question the outbreak of question in this group is this group run by Atheist? I have to wonder. The questions asked and or allowed by the Admins or well lets just say some require four years training in a seminary school and divine intervention to really give a good answer. Not to mention prayer and fasting.
