I wish God did that more often, then maybe some, including me, will finally see not to turn their back to God in favor of sin.

Seems like God can revoke his gift of sentience if he chooses to, it wasn’t given to Man by any obligation. Same with our very lives. There’s a reason why Christians say our lives are not our own, it is true, though our sinful nature still wrestles with it.

God allows us a measure of freewill. He can pass judgment on us and revoke some of our freewill.

Who said God would never violate anyone’s free will? The argument this is meant to attack at is that, “God provides everyone with the opportunity to accept or reject His revelation and God will respond to that unmeritorious decision with salvation because He said He would”. It doesn’t matter to me which side of the argument you stand on, but it’s important to argue against the best representation the argument you intend to defeat.

Free will is ability to choose. What Nebuchadnezzar got was punishment . Likewise we have freedom to do whatever we want but we should be ready to face consequences

The only freewill we have is to our fleshly sin nature until the grace of God rains upon us and converts the heart and its only then that the freewill bondage to sin is broken and a new freewill towards obedience to God and His word give birth

He was warned. He exhausted himself above God. He didn’t heed the warning and he paid the price. He was a much better king once he regained his senses.

Who said never? We have free will because God ordains it. He does not typically deprive us of it, but that doesn’t mean he won’t.

I thought book of Job thought us not to question Gods work, for it is way to complicated for our 3D minds to comprehend the vast complexity of running the universe at any given nanosecond. Focus on your salvation instead, its not like there is gonna be “test” when you die and these “riddles” are gonna be on it.

The free will is in the choice, but when it comes to consequences, your free will doesn’t come in. You are free to choose. And the consequences is inherent part of the choice. So you can’t choose something and expect a different consequence from what your choice will bring up.

We are free to make choices. We aren’t free to choose the consequences.

Only serves to demonstrate the sovereignty of God
Meanwhile.. only God has the right and power to do that.. He’s the only One Who serves true justice.. being sinless and Holy.. and also being Judge that holds all of creation accountable

Please tell me this is not a Calvinist argument. This is God punishing Nebuchadnezzar because of his choices. Nebuchadnezzar freely chose to do wrong. God freely chose to punish him. Sorry, but we don’t get to choose our punishments. Bad argument here I think.

Nebuchadnezzar was being punished, it had nothing to do with free will. We all have the freedom to make choices, but it certainly didn’t mean we won’t face the consequences of those choices.

It’s paying evil with Justice.

Suppose you jump from a 10 floors building. From the 10th floor to the 9th floor nothing happen. 9th to the 8th nothing happen, 8th to the 7th nothing happen. Does that means that nothing will happen? Wrong, there’s consequence for any of our attitude and, there a merciful God to correct us before we jump, because after we jump as much as He would alert us, there will be consequences….

Well first of all God didn’t turn Nebuchadnezzar into a “wild beast” Nebuchadnezzar went mad and developed a psychological disorder called boanthropy, in which a person believes they are a beast and eats grass and hay. Can God make someone mad if they do evil in his sight yes it is possible. In other words yes it is a result of his free will that he became mad
