What does it mean when in the Bible it says some are priests and some are kings?

In the Old Testament they had 2different functions. One was the mediator between God and the people, taking care of all the duties in the temple and the kings fought the wars and commanded the armies of the Lord. It’s similar to the lion and the lamb and the lamb I guess

Is because A Priest would represent the people to God, and pray for them, And the Prophet would reptesent God to the people, And a Priest would offer up sacrifices of praise and spiritual sacrifices.. And why we are Kings, is because we are suppose to reign in life, Rom 5: 17.

You are misquoting the bible. The verses you provided talk about the priestly kingdom instituted by Christ.

The ESV doesn’t say some are kings and some are priests in Rev 1 and 5. Can you copy the verses you are referring to?

Revelation:1:6 KJV -
I see you referred to Rev. 1:6 “He has made us a Kingdom of priests for God his Father. All glory and power to Him forever and ever! Amen.”
God said it first to the Israelites at Sainai as we can see in Exodus 19:6 “and you will be my kingdom of priests, my holy nation.’ This the message you must give to the people of Israel.”
In the context of OT, the nation (descendants of Israel/Jews)was to become intermediaries between a holy God and a lost world.Through them, God would reveal Himself.
This context was “expanded” in the NT, which includes all the believers, Jews and Gentiles. Peter emphasized it in 2Peter:4-10,on v9 he mentions “You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession.” Through out the letter, Peter encouraging the suffering believers by reminding them of their exalted spiritual status. He presents tye Christian community as the new temple builton the foundation of Christ, and as heirs of blessings granted to God’s covenant people.
