Small church or large church you are a soft target for attacks.
Don’t answer with “we trust the Lord” we all know that, if you don’t know it you should start trusting the Lord. Discuss practical aspects of this post.
For so many reasons that is a no and a completely asinine idea.
Yes
No. We don’t. There are other ways to make the church not so soft of a target.
Yes here at Centerville we started last Wednesday. We are asmall church
What is thought of churches who profess to be packing (guns/ammo. Or if not members, appointed ones are ready to take out anyone who comes in there shooting. Happening here!!
I visited a Pentecostal Church this past summer. All of their church doors were locked. And this was on a Sunday morning. I never experienced anything like that before. It was a rather strange feeling indeed. Fortunately, a woman on the inside happen to pass through a hallway and saw me. Thank God, she let me in. It is a shame that this has to be in today’s society. In our tent revivals, there are no doors. Everything is wide open. We have to trust the Holy Ghost to protect us. That is all that I can say about it.
Jerusalem Acres in Cleveland locked their doors after the service started and that was way back when.
Charles, this idea is not new. 25 years ago, in an inner city Church of God in New Jersey, locked their doors, BEFORE the service began. They had a slot in the metal front door and someone would monitor the door and open when it was safe for people to come in.
REASON, they had been robbed 4 times before. Very dangerous. That was 25 years ago. I held a World Missions Service there. After the service, two big male members walked me to my car and told me not to stop on my way out of the area.
Had a Church full of Worshippers.
all churches will have to eventually do this to some degree.
We have someone watching the door to let you in
Make use of any military or public safety members that come! Local law enforcement will be glad to do a walk thru threat assessment for any church! Yes we trust God but also must be vigilant. ..
