Sometimes I wonder if a great change needs to occur at General Headquarters. Please do not misunderstand me. In no way am I attempting to demeanor or speak negatively about any one. I just sometimes think we should turn over much what the preachers are doing at the CoG General Headquarters to the laity of the church. Same goes to other denominations as well. Preachers should be out preaching the gospel of Christ with signs following their ministry, not be an Administrator and doing everything that a layperson could actually do. In fact, I some times think that a layperson could do a much better job at it than our ministers. Well, it is just my thoughts as well. God bless you all.

I so agree with you. We should have no division of clergy versus laity. We are all members of the same Body of Christ with different ministries or callings. Unfortunately in most denominations the best preachers and builders of local churches get promoted to administrative positions at headquarters rather than remaining in positions where they were doing the most good for the Body of Christ. We would have many more large local churches if the most fruitful leaders did not leave for other positions that may not even be biblical. Of course I do understand how stressful it can be to pastor a large church and how a move to headquarters can provide a respite.

People must know their callings and function accordingly and must produce results.A tree is seen by it’s fruit.

E. J. Bohmer was our pastor in McMinnville. 1916 He came directly from Azusa Street 1910 pastored in Georgia before coming to McMinnville. He move up or out and went to Cleveland to serve as COG gen secy and excelled in that position for the rest of his ministry. He must of been a great Pentecostal.
He had a son that had to have 24 hr attention so he was positioned in Cleveland. He served in the beginning with the revival in Azusa and yet left in Cleveland, justifiable.
