We all agree that she is a sweet charming person as it is assumed all sanctified people are. The discussion is what about externals?

How is she different from an “unsanctified” person? Is there such a thing as “unsanctified”? The Baptist believe all born again people are sanctified. The Church of God ABSOLUTELY DISBELIEVES that. The Declaration of Faith is explicit on this.

  2. First, if you want externals, if you want to “see” something, spend 5 minutes with her. Look past what YOU want (or don’t want) to see, and see who she is by her fruit.

Second, this is the face of the Church Of God in 2016. 2,000 bishops who are ordained in this denomination appointed Tim and Paula to this position.

So it’s up to you to decide how strongly you feel about your convictions. If this doesn’t suit you, then I suppose there are decisions that you need to make. I strongly discourage your decisions to tear down this Godly woman and intentionally sow discord in the Church that you claim to love.

Jesus didn’t look at the external, He looked at the heart, He also said that He only did what He saw the Father doing. I want that kind of relationship with the Father where I can see what He sees and say what I hear Him saying. I have a long way to go!

  4. Charles Page says:

Kim, don’t you think he saw both at the same time? We can’t see the heart only externals.

  5. Sanctification is to be worked out between the person and God. It’s not for any man to judge rather or not some one is sanctified.

  6. I Thessalonians 4:3(a) states, “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification.” We are commanded to “Purify ourselves even as He is pure.”

  7. Many want to ask questions in regard to Jesus, but God speaks through the Apostle Paul’s writings as well. Paul says to “Put off” in Ephesians 4:22(f). The CoG has stated that “We believe in the whole Bible, with the NT as our only rule for government and discipline.” We are a holiness people because we are commanded by God to be holy. A person may be a good person, but they are not holy. A person may be a good friend, in fact, one of our best friends, but they can still be unholy. The fact remains, “Without holiness, you are not going to make it.”

  8. Clarity: Are you saying that Paula Hill is unsanctified/unholy because of her jewelry, makeup and hair?

  9. The CoG Minutes Book for many years stated, “The wearing of jewelry for ornament or decoration shall be made a test of membership.”

  10. What do the current CoG minutes state on the issue of jewelry?
