Taylor Swift posted a short message on Instagram encouraging her 272 million followers to register to vote. Afterward, the website she directed her fans to — the nonpartisan nonprofit Vote.org — recorded more than 35,000 registrations, according to the organization. What about Michelle Obama?

We live in unbelievable times, the end times, a period in which everything is up for grabs and power is being redistributed to an astonishing degree. Pop singer Taylor Swift last week asked her followers to register to vote and they did in record numbers. The 35,252 new registrations on National Voter Registration Day were the most since 2020, the organization said, and a 23% jump over last year. The number of 18-year-olds registered was more than double 2022. 13,000 people signing up every 30 minutes. That’s influence, and a whole lot of power to effect change. How much change? Let’s see.

So what if, and I’m just thinking out loud here, what if someone like Taylor Swift, who I imagine appeals largely to Democrats and Liberals, would connect up with someone like, say, Michelle Obama, and use her stunning social media influence to get her elected president of the United States? Think about this. Taylor Swift attended one football game in support of NFL star Travis Kelce, and sat in the box with his mom. No big deal, right? In 24 hours, Kelce saw 300,000 new followers to his social media, his merch sales up 400%, female viewership of that game up 63%, and now his jersey is the #5 best-selling jersey in all the NFL. Can that power elect Michelle Obama as our next president? You better believe it, in a landslide, and you just might see it. You heard it here first.
