We Are in Active Decline and Have Largely Forgotten the Mission of Jesus

In 2005, it was reported that for the first time in our history, the COG closed more churches than we opened. We decreased in our number of North American churches.
In 2007 according to what Ive heard from the most recent Executive Council meeting, we have now realized a $600,000 decrease in TOT receipts, a marked changed in the 11.2 % annual increase in TOT receipts Julian Robinson said we realize annually(Tampa Open Forum 2006). That increase had caused our TOT receipts to double every 7 years. So, how big was the decline How about an $8-10,000,000 projected increase plus an actualized $600,000 decrease for a total decline of $8-10.6 million decrease in a single year.
The system is officially broken. And, our trajectory is pointing in the wrong direction.Continue reading →
