“The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.”

―Proverbs 21:1

My dear VPGs,

It is easy to view this proverb looking outward – at the “kings” (leaders in your life).  But I encourage you to read it looking inward.  You are destined to be a “king” or “queen” (leader) too.

Throughout your life God will put you places and position of influence where you are called to lead and contribute.

Allow God to use you for his purposes.  He has a plan and purpose for your life, but he also has a plan and purpose for the other people around you and often the reason you are present is because he has directed your life “for such a time as this” to help and preserve others.

 *****

Having said that, there are kings in your life and this proverb doesn’t differentiate between the good leaders or the bad leaders; all of them are being directed by God.  Often it is the bad leaders who help us the most.  Their flaws and faults test us and challenge us and help us to grow.

Bottom line, pray for your leaders, celebrate the good ones and learn what to do from them, but also learn from your harsh/bad leaders knowing that God is teaching you something through them all.

And above all, serve them well.  How they lead is a reflection on them, how you follow is a reflection on you.  Shine brightly!  All for the glory of God.

Love, Papa
