Good evening, and welcome to #ourCOG Daily Brief for December 4, 2025.

In today’s top stories, Ukrainians remain wary as U.S. and Russian negotiators meet to discuss their future, firmly stating their willingness to compromise but not to surrender. Domestically, an unusual alliance has formed in Arizona, where a Democrat and a Republican are working together to free an ICE detainee. Further debate has ignited over reports of the U.S. military potentially violating rules of war by firing twice on a suspected drug boat, resulting in fatalities. A new feature on X is revealing that many divisive political accounts are foreign-based, often profiting from outrage. And in urban innovation, cities like Boston are exploring building affordable housing directly above libraries, fostering both community and housing solutions. On the world stage, Pakistan’s vibrant arcade culture has made it a global powerhouse in the retro video game Tekken, despite PlayStations being largely unaffordable. We also note that while Donald Trump shares a penchant for shuttle diplomacy with Henry Kissinger, he’s recognized for a notable lack of Kissinger’s renowned patience.

Turning to our recent video content, Jonathan Vorce has encouraged us to “Live a Believer’s Life!” and explored the significance of “Pentecost and Holy Spirit.” He also shared an inspiring story about encountering the “HOLY SPIRIT at Age 11!”

From our FaithNews RSS feed, we’ve seen recent headlines including “Smith Honored with Spirit of Azusa Award,” news that “More Americans Embrace ‘Animal Gifting’ This Christmas,” an announcement that a “Foundation Announces Partnership to Support Military Families in Need,” and the exciting release of the “Church of God Publications Releases 75th Anniversary Edition “Red Back Hymnal”.”

In prophecy news, for December 4th, we learned that Witkoff and Kushner recently met with President Putin in Moscow, with President Trump expressing his belief that Putin genuinely wants to end the Ukraine war. Looking back to December 3rd, there’s been a dramatic surge, up 1,153% in 11 months, in assaults against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, with citizens increasingly obstructing their efforts. On December 2nd, a Trump FDA Chief Medical Officer criticized the Biden administration for pushing COVID shots to healthy children, claiming they “killed” at least 10, and promised new vaccine safeguards; plus, reports emerged of a mysterious interstellar object appearing to pulse. And on December 1st, President Trump was pushing to reopen the California coast to offshore drilling, aligning with a “Drill, baby, drill” approach to fossil fuel production.

Finally, in Jewish history for this day, December 5th, we remember a pivotal moment in 63 BCE when Cicero delivered his final Catiline Oration, exposing Cataline’s conspiracy to overthrow Rome. Notably, Cicero himself harbored strong anti-Jewish sentiments, describing Judaism as a “barbarous superstition.” Much later, in 220 CE, on the 22nd of Kislev, we mark the passing of Rabbi Judah Hanasi, or Judah the Patriarch. Born in Eretz Israel in 138, Rabbi Judah served as both the religious and political leader of the Jewish community, and is most famously credited with compiling the Mishna, which became the foundational text for the Talmud.
