See Jeremiah 7:2-15, 20

What happened to Israel during the time of Jeremiah can also happen in our time. Yes, it can happen today. In the book of Jeremiah, he warned Israel that their Temple and Jerusalem would be destroyed. Solomon’s temple was destroyed by fire. The same thing happened again in AD 70.

Back in the late 1970s, I was in Bible study, and my pastor was leading a study in the Book of Jeremiah.  He was reading about the destruction of the Jewish Temple and Jerusalem in Jeremiah’s time. I asked him if it could happen in our society today.  He did not think it would happen until after the rapture.

The Holy Spirit informed me that it is likely to happen in our time, too, because of the amount of wickedness in today’s society, it is highly likely for our Temples (churches & cathedrals) today.  Solomon says there is nothing new under the sun.

In Britain, on July 7, 1984, clergy of the centuries-old York Cathedral held a meeting in which they consecrated a theology professor, David Jenkins, to be Bishop of Durham. He had caused controversy inside the church and out by questioning the literal truth of the virgin birth and miracles such as Jesus walking on water. He also did not believe Christ actually rose from the dead.

Two nights later, the cathedral caught on fire, caused by a lightning strike. A number of people said God fired that shot of lightning. Earlier, in 1983, I wrote in my notes based on Jeremiah 7 that Churches and Cathedrals would burn in the Judgment of God. God really caught my attention with this.

The most famous Temple to be burned in our times is the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on April 15, 2019. Why do I believe God burned that Cathedral? There is an awful lot of wickedness in France. Homosexuality is more dominant there than it is in the USA. Political Correctness is enforced by law in France. It is illegal there to speak out against LGBTQ sins. Homosexuality was first legalized in France after the destructive French Revolution. That county also hates the Jews. So God allowed France’s National Temple (Notre Dame Cathedral) to burn in 2019.

Can this happen to America, too? Yes, it can happen here. After George Floyd died, major conflicts broke out in Minneapolis and St Paul, MN, with widespread looting and burning, and many people were killed or injured. Eventually, the conflicts spread across cities around America and even around the globe. Churches were burned in those conflicts as well.

Because we are in the last days, expect Jeremiah 7 (regarding the burning of churches) to replay itself over and over again in the coming days. War (including nuclear) can bring the most destruction to houses of worship. Islamic terrorism is another source of this. What really makes this bad is when terrorists set churches on fire with people inside, resulting in lots of lives lost.

This is happening in Nigeria right now.  Also, in AD 70, people were crowded inside Herod’s Temple with standing room only. They were packed in it like sardines.  A Roman soldier threw a torch in the window. The people’s clothes and bodies became the kindling to burn that temple.

The Ultimate Temple Fire will be St Peter’s Cathedral/Vatican during the Tribulation when the entire City of Rome burns. Could the Coli Albani Volcano be the source of the fire? Nuclear Attack?

First Note based on Jeremiah 7

Here are the notes based on Jeremiah 7 written earlier. “And Cathedrals and Church buildings were set afire!

Second note based on Jeremiah 7

Here is what Jesus would say to us today in Apostate America and in Europe: “I will give America, Europe, and Latin America over to the Babylonians (Armies of the Anti-Christ, including Revived Roman Empire Soldiers, Muslim Terrorists, and others), and they shall set fire to your church buildings and cathedrals.” This is happening today in Europe as Muslims, including Muslims from Iraq (Babylon), set fire to Churches.

In Europe, Muslims have Set Fire to Churches in France and other places.  So Jeremiah 7 is replaying itself around the world.

Scriptures: Jeremiah 7:2-15, 20, Jeremiah 27:5-8, Jeremiah 32:28 – Jeremiah 37:5-8, Jeremiah 39:5-8; Matthew 23:38, Matthew 24:2-3; Mark 13:1-2; Luke 21:5-7.

Just recently, because of the war in Iran, that country has been making threats against Israel and America.

Recently, a headline in the NY Post said, “ISIS Calls on Muslims to Set Fire to Churches and Synagogues across US, Europe in Twisted Easter Threat.” That Terror threat was made on March 18, 2026.  That article was by Anthony Blair on April 2, 2026. Thank God it did not happen at the time.  Though it can happen in the future when society descends into chaos.

A few years ago, I had a bad dream that the church that I attended as a child was burned out.  In the dream, I was standing two blocks away. What I saw was the charred wood beams that originally supported the wood roof. That church is a large church. The roof was gone, but the brick walls remained.  Whether this happens, only God knows. I am not going to reveal the name of the church because I don’t want terrorists to get the idea of attacking it.

Did he (God) send me a Joel 2:28 style dream? It could certainly happen during the Tribulation.  Most churches these days are made largely of wood. Even big churches are primarily made of wood (at least ceilings and roofs supported by wood beams).  The big ones have brick or stone walls.  Small churches are made entirely of wood, though they may have concrete slab floors.

I think the dream happened after the Notre Dame Fire. Will our temples be burned also, as in Jeremiah 7?  Because America, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Australia, North America, and South America have all turned away from God, judgment is going to hit us, too.  Judgment-based Bible prophecies have a way of replaying themselves over and over again. With the increasing threats coming from Iran and other Muslim terrorists, this is increasingly likely to happen. In the Tribulation, this will be more and more widespread.

The Bible says in Peter 4:17, “For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those [professed but false Christians] that obey not the gospel of God?”  When the Jews turned away from God in the time of Jeremiah and in the time of Jesus, God judged them and burned their temples. Both times, they went into exile. Peter wrote that only a few years before Herod’s temple was destroyed. That was the first target.

God chastises his own people (both Jews and Christians). When those who claim to be Christians turn against God, he judges them. For a long time, America and the European countries were considered Christian nations. But Christendom became more and more corrupt. America, Europe, Mexico, South America, Canada, Australia, and other countries have turned against God.  So look for God to start burning more temples.  Judgment is coming to our country and many others. It will especially get much worse after the Rapture.

With the Tribulation coming soon, now is the time to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.  Avoid the Tribulation, the time of multiple disasters.
