“Faith is built on reason. We should have good reasons for thinking that Christianity is true before we dedicate ourselves completely to it. We should have solid evidence that our understanding of a biblical passage is correct before we go on to apply it.”

— J.P. Moreland

It is amazing to me how we struggle with the truth.

Call it the 500 pound gorilla in the room that no one is talking about, or burying one’s head in the sand, or turning a blind eye, but consistently I discover that often people don’t really want the truth unless it is happy truth or agrees with their preconceived ideas and opinions.

Dear friend, that just will not do.

Pretending that everything is okay will not make it okay.

Ignoring the issues will not resolve the issues.

In every sphere and discipline of life, Christians do not have to be afraid of the truth. Matter of fact, they should insist on the truth and run towards it wherever it leads, for in the end the Truth will be waiting.

The ONE THING for today: You can be nice about it, but the essence of mature and responsible leadership is consistently and repeatedly introduce yourself and those around you to the truth.

For how can you get to where you need to be if you don’t know where you’re at?

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
