Creed was a major rock band during the late 1990’s through the early 2000’s that has a bit of a Cleveland history background. The front man, Scott Stapp, was the stepson of a Pentecostal preacher. He wound up attending Lee College for a while only to be suspended for smoking pot. In 1997 Creed’s debut album went on to sell over 6 million copies and had 4 singles that went to #1, the first such accomplishment for any debut rock album. Their second album went 11 times platinum, while their third also was multi-platinum as well. The band also did receive one Grammy award.
