General Overseer, Tim Hill, just back from visiting flooded churches in Louisiana has a special message on the denomination’s website; it’s a must see. There are vivid pictures of several Churches of God. This is what leadership is all about and the web gives him a chance to hurry up the rescue efforts. What can the 477 members on this site do to make a difference?

Jim, when Katrina hit we were going to the Vineyard and someone donated the use of an 18 wheeler we filled it up with water, clothes, food, diapers, formula, etc. Maybe we could do something like this.

Don’t give to the Red Cross because they threw away medicine, food & clothing, diapers & baby food etc !!! Because it wasn’t in there governmental contract & wouldn’t let people pray for the ones affected by the flood !!

this flooding could be a grand opportunity for destroyed Churches to do a reassessment of their ministry. A time to redesign the structure. (there will be many who want to restore the original) Expand the building, downscale, go to a circular rather than the traditional square sanctuary. Detail the security as well as handicap accesses. Include transsexual bathrooms avoiding the stigma.
