“I was once asked to sign Christianity Today magazine’s statement of faith “without doubt or equivocation.” I had to tell them I can barely sign my own name without doubt or equivocation.”

Reaching for the Invisible God: What Can We Expect to Find? by Philip Yancey

It has been my conviction that the people who are shouting the loudest are often the ones who are trying to drown out their own doubts.

If certainty was the standard we’d never get anything done.

Christians are not called believers for no reason.  If 100% certainty was required there’d be no room for faith and thus no room for salvation.

Your doubts and fears let you know you’re alive.  They let you know that something is at stake, that you’re doing something that matters.

The great tragedy is not that you doubt, the great tragedy is that you don’t exert enough faith to press forward anyway.

The ONE THING for today: Certainty is not a requirement for progress.  Matter of fact, it is more often than not a hindrance.  Walking by faith will be the key until we finally step into the unknown…and hopefully…our faith becomes sight.  Until then, it’s okay to have doubts…what’s not okay is quitting.
