“It’s a privilege to grow old with people you love, watching them do something they love, for people they love.” __Mac Greer, speaking of his friend and colleague Chris Hill on the day he retired

Over the years I have had different people ask me these questions:

  • “If God knows how we feel, why did Jesus have to come to earth to suffer as a human?”
  • Or, “Why didn’t God just forgive us of our sins instead of Jesus having to die such a brutal and shameful death on a Cross?”

Both of these are good and worthy questions and there’s not enough space allowed in the short format I try to keep my ONE THING blog to.

So for now, I’ll leave it with this:

Some things are so important that you must physically get involved.

Sending money or sending others has its place.  Praying about it is often all that is required.

But like eating, fine dining has its place; a quick stop at your favorite corner restaurant is often the best choice, but sometimes you need more than food; you need “soul food” — food cooked with love by someone who loves you and has prepared a meal just for you…

And money, and someone else, and even prayers can’t replace that meal.

The ONE THING for today: There are those times—those special moments of destiny— when only your touch will make the difference.  Usually, it will be costly for you, but it is the only way for you to achieve what you hope to achieve and do what needs to be done.
