Daily 40-day Devotional Guide

Good morning!

Welcome to Day 30!  We are 75% complete!  Yesterday was one of my fast days and last night I was so hungry – fasting never seems to get easier for me – and I was so tempted to just take a nimble but I reminded myself of all my dear people who are sacrificing along with me and I said to myself, “I can’t let them down.”  Later in as I was walking over to the Youth service someone told me about how tempted they were to eat last night but they said, “I knew you were praying for me and I didn’t want to let you down.”  I got a good laugh at that as I shared my own struggle.  Truly we are all in the same boat – hungry but encouraging each other to stay the course.

Do you know the real issue?  Even through we are hungry physically, we are more hungry for God.  Don’t give up!  Let me encourage you to stay in the race – the finish line is just days away and you will never regret anything that you sacrifice up for the love of Christ.

And yes, I am praying for you…and PLEASE pray for me so that I can practice what I preach! :)

THURSDAY DEVOTIONAL: What is “life”? (Part 4)

John 10:27-29 (NKJV) 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch themout of My Father’s hand.

Speaking of Heaven - every once in awhile you get to hold an angel (Annie E.)

Romans 6:23  (NKJV) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  • Above all, the life that we receiving through believing in Jesus is eternal life.
  • At this stage of my life I have an increasing number of loved ones who are already experiencing that eternal life.  Perhaps you are the same.  Take a moment and reflect on how their lives must be right now and reflect on what Heaven will mean to you.
