The Post said this: A new large-scale LGBTQ festival is set to take place in Israel. According to the Jerusalem Post, Israel will host what is being described as the largest LGBTQ festival ever held in the Middle East at the Dead Sea in June 2026, in an area traditionally associated with the biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. “Pride rises at the lowest place on earth,” the Monday Post read.
Wow! Now we wait and see what God might do about this wicked, sordid affair. Already, he is wreaking havoc on other nations and peoples. I just read that in California, venomous snakes are killing people on an unprecedented scale. Wars that only intensify as they drag on, with new ones beginning in various parts of the world.
Wicked storms tear throughout our nation and the world, with the hottest spring ever. With wild weather fluctuating everywhere, we can’t help but believe something is afoot. Is our merciful and benevolent God angry with us? If he’s not, then he should be; we go out of our way to anger Him by killing one another, and his gift to us, children. Abortions are still going on in the world unabated as we see civil society crumbling before our very eyes.
Troy Miller, president and CEO of the National Religious Broadcasters, recently argued that the weakening of the American family has played a significant role in cultural instability. Decades of shifting norms around marriage, the erosion of long-term commitment, and the rise of digital substitutes for real human connection have reshaped the environment in which younger generations are coming of age. What used to be a core stabilizing structure of our society has, in many cases, been completely fragmented.
It is easy to see how this kind of environment could lead to disorientation, discouragement, frustration, and longing. When foundational relationships feel uncertain, the search for meaning often intensifies. And increasingly, that search appears to be turning in a spiritual direction.
A recent study from Lifeway Research highlights an important reality amid this growing interest: openness to faith does not necessarily translate into depth of belief.
Today, people don’t know what to believe since everyone is out to deceive and profit from unstable markets due to the oil embargoes. What a time to make a killing in the stock markets! Especially if you have political connections and are privy to insider trading that goes on in the political realm. Just ask multi-Millionaire Nancy Pelosi.
Some say it is a dog-eat-dog world, and they certainly aren’t wrong about that. Christians are all too accommodating to that way of life by not calling out the players. Ultimately, God is the judge, and my belief is that he is already passing judgment on the world at large. As he incrementally does to redeem those who are willing to acknowledge Him and his only begotten Son – Christ Jesus.
Book Report:
New books that are flooding the market today are more often written by political hacks who have an agenda – to become wealthy. But instead, they are turning readers off by rehashing stories of how to change the world. Furthermore, where do they find the time to write while they should be working for the American people? With nothing better to do, they sit at their desks during the workday writing books.
Realizing that we live in a fallen world, I find to my surprise that Bill O’Reilly feels the very same way, and his older book, Culture Warrior, written in 2006, was just as interesting today as it was then. Although Bill is a practicing Catholic, he has a lot to say about the world in which we live and mankind’s place in it. While being rational, he can tell it like it is from the perspective of a man who, although vilified and threatened, still says what he believes is right.
Bill says,
At times, you have to fight. No way around it. At some point, every one of us is confronted with danger or injustice. How we choose to combat that challenge is often life-defining. You can face difficulties head-on, run from them, or ignore them until they consume you. But no one escapes conflict, no one. In my experience of more than 30 years of practicing journalism, I’ve found that most people do not like to fight. No surprise there. The battle is not only exhausting and dangerous; it also requires skill and discipline to emerge victorious, much less unscathed.
And the same thing holds true for Christians, especially the milk-toast kind. They would rather not say anything and let the enemy get away with murder. As long as it doesn’t affect them, they want to stay out of the fray and still be able to go to heaven. Nevertheless, they will have to answer to God for their lack of faith and courage, and God does not appreciate cowards.
Another book I picked up at the same time is a book by Michael Savage titled The Enemy Within, with the subtitle Saving America from the liberal assault on our schools, faith, and military. Both books were written at about the same time – during the Obama years. While Bill O’Reilly often apologizes occasionally as he goes along, Michael Savage does not. But both men tug at my heartstrings for saying what I believe to be true, often quoting scripture. The often self-righteous and pious O’Reilly scours Michael Savage for being too forceful – yet I find him just in what he says. Nevertheless, both men are good writers and hit the nail on the head ninety-nine percent of the time.
I found these books at the local Goodwill store, and they are just as relevant today as they were when they were written.
