I would like to begin a discussion about the supposed “deity of Christ”. However, the problem with forums like this is that posters do not address the specifics of the OP or even the post they are addressing. Instead, they start posting all their proof texts, clouding the discussion. I hope this thread will not go that same direction. Please address the specifics of the post.

Yeshua said, “And this is life eternal, that they might know you the only true God, and Yeshua Messiah, whom you have sent.” John 17:3

In this verse, Yeshua excludes himself as the “only true God” and identifies his Father, Almighty YHWH, as the “ONLY TRUE GOD”.

How do you understand THIS SPECIFIC VERSE?
