Iranian Warship Alborz Enters The Red Sea As Missile Strikes Increase In Support Of Terror Group Hamas And Houthi Rebels In Yemen
Iran’s Alborz warship has entered the Red Sea through the strategic Bab al-Mandeb Strait, Iran’s Tasnim news agency has reported, at a time of heightened tensions over the globally important waterway.
Our first news story of 2020 was about the first-ever and historic joint war games between Russia, China and Iran, and we all know how that year turned out. In 2024, Iran is once again grabbing the headlines by inflaming tension in the Red Sea as the possibility of war with the United States grows ever more likely. At the same times, the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier strike group has been recalled from its post over Israel, and will be replaced by amphibious assault ship the USS Bataan and its accompanying warships, the USS Mesa Verde and the USS Carter Hall.
“And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.” Daniel 11:2 (KJB)
Israel continues to battle Hamas in Gaza, an operation that will likely continue well into the new year, while Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthi rebels in Yemen continue to threaten an escalation in the fighting. Funny, no one has even mentioned Russia and Ukraine for some time now. We are right in the middle of the ‘wars and rumours of war’ portion of this stage play, with Flight #777 warming up her engines on the tarmac. That’s the memo for the new year, please conduct yourself accordingly.
Iran deploys warship Alborz to Red Sea amid soaring tensions
FROM ALJAZEERA NEWS: “The Alborz destroyer entered the Red Sea … by passing through the Bab al-Mandeb” waterway at the southern tip of the Red Sea, connecting with the Gulf of Aden in the Indian Ocean, the news agency said on Monday.
It added that Iran’s naval fleet has been operating in the area “to secure shipping lanes, repel pirates, among other purposes since 2009”.
The United States in early December set up a multinational naval task force for the Red Sea following a flurry of missile and drone attacks by Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi rebels on merchant vessels, which led shipping companies to suspend passages through the now highly militarised area.
The Houthis say the attacks were in solidarity with Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip, where Israel is continuing a months-long bombardment campaign.
According to the International Chamber of Shipping, 12 percent of global trade passes through the Red Sea, which provides a shortcut past Africa via the Suez Canal.
The Tasnim report comes a day after US Navy helicopters fired on Houthi rebels attempting to board a cargo ship off Yemen, with the rebels reporting 10 fighters dead. It also comes after Sayyed Razi Mousavi, one of the top commanders of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps in Syria, was killed in an Israeli air strike outside of Damascus last week. READ MORE
Iran confirms deploying warship Alborz to Red Sea as tensions rise
Iranian state media confirmed Tehran sent a warship to the Red Sea as the area rapidly militarises. The IRIS Alborz, part of the 94th Naval Fleet of the Iranian army, travelled through the Bab al-Mandeb Strait near Yemen to arrive at the Red Sea. The news comes as state media reported Iran’s security chief, Ali Akbar Ahmadian, held a meeting with top Houthi negotiator Mohammad Abdulsalam. Houthi attacks on tankers passing through the strait of Bab Al Mandab to the Red Sea are disrupting one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world. Houthis say they are targeting vessels linked to Israel in a show of solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

Please continue to pray for us, and for wisdom for me especially, as we continue taking steps to print the NTEB branded King James Bible for our free Bible and Bibles Behind Bars program. It is exciting and intimidating at the same time. If the Lord has prospered your financially, we ask you to donate to help us continue to send out free Bibles at this level, and even higher than we are at the moment. It takes a lot of prayer, and a lot of resources to do all this. Praise the Lord we are doing it, all of us together, labouring in the Lord’s harvest field. TO THE FIGHT!!!
When you contribute to this fundraising effort, you are helping us to do what the Lord called us to do. The money you send in goes primarily to the overall daily operations of this site. When people ask for Bibles, we send them out at no charge. When people write in and say how much they would like gospel tracts but cannot afford them, we send them a box at no cost to them for either the tracts or the shipping, no matter where they are in the world. We have a Gospel Billboard program. We are now broadcasting Bible studies, Podcasts and a Sunday Service 5 times a week, thanks to your generous donations. All this is possible because YOU pray for us, YOU support us, and YOU give so we can continue growing.
But whatever you do, don’t do nothing. Time is short and we need your help right now. The Lord has given us an open door with a tremendous ‘course’ for us to fulfill that will create an excellent experience at the Judgement Seat of Christ. Please pray for our efforts, and if the Lord leads you to donate, be as generous as possible. The war is REAL, the battle HOT and the time is SHORT…TO THE FIGHT!!!
