It Would Have Been a Christmas Miracle
“The trouble with miracles is that they are so unpredictable.”
For a few days around our house Sonja was really sad.
She brought a new Christmas tree this year and had decorated it beautifully. Unfortunately the lights had bad connection and did not work properly. To make matters worse, the company she ordered the tree from was not being cooperative about replacing it.
In walks Blake Schuette, the husband of Mindy, my secretary. He had brought a few tools with him and within fifteen minutes – just like that – he had spliced the wires and the tree was shining in all its Christmas glory.
If I had done that…
It would have been a Christmas miracle.
Here’s the deal, nothing is easy. And I mean nothing.
If it looks easy that just means the person doing it knows what they’re doing. And they deserve our respect.
The ONE THING for today: It takes a lot of unsung heroes to make life work. Have the humility to notice them and honor them; they’re doing things that you can’t do, won’t do, or don’t have the time to do, and they’re good at it. That’s why it looks easy.
