“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways, And He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6). Emphasis added.

I have included a special message at the end of this article for those who have reached that point where the burden of evidence that the world is spinning out of control is overwhelming. I hope you will read and take to heart what God requires in order to give His free gift of eternal life, as He has declared is His will for all who trust in Him.

I don’t know how many times I have read this brief and direct statement (really a prophetic warning), made by the Lord Jesus, but overlooked the impact of its prophetic implications. It once seemed very general, but now it is manifest reality.

“And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold(Matthew 24:12). Emphasis added.

Over the years there have been numerous times when the Spirit would make a verse suddenly clear and the accuracy of it startling.

This is one of those verses and one of those times.

In this case, it is even more impactful because it is as widespread in fulfillment as there are human beings who are caught up in it.

We go through life being exposed to and surrounded by a steady degradation in human behavior that has been happening over an extended period of time, and so we remain somewhat oblivious to it unless it intrudes into our personal life. But it continuously worsens, and it can only be ignored for so long.

Now it is forcing itself into everyone’s personal life.

God’s declaration of the need for the rule of law:

“Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which is from God. The authorities that exist have been appointed by God. Consequently, whoever resists authority is opposing what God has set in place, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves” (Romans 13:1-2).

The Word of God also makes clear that there is a baseline that is implied in two of the verses that immediately follow those above (Emphasis added):

“For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad” (Romans 13:3a).

“For he is God’s servant for your good(Romans 13:4a).

That baseline defines what is expected of “legitimate” authorities that adhere to the standards that God requires of all human governing authorities as well as every individual person. That is what allows society to function in a coherent manner and what allows civilized society to exist at all.

Lest we misunderstand, God does not appoint evil governing authorities. He has used existing evil rulers to execute judgment at various times, but they were not made to be evil by Him. They readily take that mantle upon themselves.

Lawlessness and lawbreakers have always been present in the world but were restrained by conscience (see Romans 2:15) and the Sovereign Power of Jesus Christ:

“He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:17).

It appears that this is no longer fully applicable. It appears that mankind may be reaping the harvest they deserve when they unwittingly fulfill yet another prophecy:

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness to light and light to darkness, who replace bitter with sweet and sweet with bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight(Isaiah 5:20-21).

Lawlessness abounds: It’s sometimes a real challenge to report on the current state of human activity as it relates to the somewhat easily pigeonholed prophetic events that we have watched closely for years:(political upheaval, alignment of nations, wars, rumors of wars, etc), and then realize that in the process of trying to decipher those events, a darker and less obvious series of prophetic warnings have been quietly growing at an ominous rate just below our radar.

The Love of Many Will Grow Cold: In the prophecy of Matthew 24:12, Jesus points out that a direct result of lawlessness will be the “love of many” growing cold.

The most undeniable proof of this condition of the present-day human heart is the almost total absence of real compassion for others by so many people. It seems most quantifiable in the treatment of children, but it doesn’t stop there. Willingness to murder people who hold contrary views, or simply the fulfillment of Matthew 24:7, “Nation will rise against nation” [blind, unreasoning racism], puts a razor’s edge on the volume of hatred and malicious conduct that has so many maintaining a 360-degree swivel even within the supposed safety of their own homes.

The Word of God has foretold that these conditions would prevail at the end of the age. One might say that those prophecies relative to individual human behavior are somewhat understated in His Word, but the warnings become quite clear once we see them in execution.

I believe God was quite well aware that they would have be seen to be believed and there is little doubt that we are now seeing them in real time. More prophetic confirmation of the destiny of Godless nations.

“These people draw near to Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me” (Isaiah 29:13).

Anyone who denies the evidence of their own eyes will find that denial will not change the facts on the ground. God’s Will will be done, as He has promised.

Now to the crux of this article.

The accuracy of the Bible has been confirmed by fulfillment, to the tiniest detail, of what was once “future prophecy” but now constitutes “history.”

There is no concrete reason to believe mankind’s Godless attempts to “fix” things will result in the utopian mirage that the world’s leaders have long promised to deliver.

“The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance(2 Peter 3:9). Emphasis added.

God, in His patience and desire for all people to be redeemed from putting their trust in human endeavor, became one of us and paid the price for man’s fallen nature. In this way, He provided a Righteous and innocent substitute in His one and only Son. Jesus is a historical reality, and every person must choose to receive His Saving Grace or is free to reject it, according to God’s own Sovereign Will.

Deciding not to decide is rejecting Him, and God has made the consequences clear.

I believe that this is where we are in the present day. I don’t know you, but I pray that you will face up to the reality of the present and receive His Salvation while you are yet in your living years.

The special message I promised you:

For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no real hope or peace in your life.

You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.

It requires that you come before God on His terms and that you do so in your living years.

And what are His terms according to His Word?

  • Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
  • Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
  • That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
  • To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
  • Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
  • To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.

God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.

  • No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
  • No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
  • Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.

If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.

“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).

There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.

The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
